Bills coach Chan Gailey confirmed that running back Fred Jackson would be out “a few weeks,” helping out by putting the range between three and eight.
An MRI on his right knee was inconclusive, but Gailey said Jackson would miss significant time.
“It’s not going to be three [weeks], but I don’t think it’s going to be eight,” Gailey said, via Tim Graham of the Buffalo News. “It’s probably somewhere there in between. Hopefully, sooner.
It wasn’t as bad as the news on wide receiver David Nelson (out for the year, torn ACL), but it was bad nonetheless.
The Bills are probably going to have to fill Nelson’s spot with a back, since the only healthy ones they have on the roster are C.J. Spiller and Tashard Choice.
But unless they get better play from their quarterback, it might not matter.
