Ohio State has produced plenty of productive NFLWRs over the years including some of the all time greats: Paul Warfield, Cris Carter, Dante Lavelli, Santonio Holmes, Terry Glenn, Joey Galloway, Brian Hartline. Sure they’ve had some busts as well but what school hasn’t?

@ruthlssjag Chill, dude. Take a deep breath, and then explain to me who you would have dropped instead. The receivers ahead of Robiskie are more talented and more productive. Cloherty has been effective at times, but he’s just a guy. And they need O-line depth more than they need another tight end.

I hope this is sarcasm. Fans get all excited about guys that look good in the 4th quarter of preseason games. Robiskie is a bust in the NFL and was the sixth best receiver on the roster. And Cloherty is a tight end that can’t block and had a lot of drops. No big deal.

Gene Smith is hardly “classless”. That’s a bizarre comment. As for Robiskie, he’s slow and was the 6th receiver on a lousy team. He won’t be missed plus they needed the roster spot for a warm body on the OL.
As a poster said, he gets his guaranteed money for the year so don’t cry a lot of tears for him. I was surprised he even made the team.
Cloherty? Dime a dozen TE. Spach is an upgrade in some way but it’s the bottom of the roster here (again, on a lousy team) so big deal.

Sure there is a spot for Brian Robiskie as the 5th receiver. Tim Toone initially made the roster but was injured & the others in camp didn’t distinguish themselves (cough*Drew Davis*cough). There is already a D. Davis at QB anyway, no duplicate names allowed. It’s bad luck. Probably caused us to lose Grimey. Also bring back Phillipkeith Manley for the OL, baddest new name in the NFL this season.

It was a matter of the Jags needing a roster spot for an offensive lineman. Robiskie was the sixth WR on a team that wanted to carry only five, and the fact that they initially kept him implies they liked him. He got open frequently (admittedly against backups) and caught every pass thrown to him in the preseason.

He showed a lot of promise at Glenville High and OSU but he just doesn’t have enough speed to get the separation needed in the pros. Good kid though.
