seems like alot of packers haters out there. people it is week 1 and san fran can still go 1 and 15 your quarterback is good at best and still unproven Alex Smith has been sub par and underachieving most of his career and even last year put up decent but not great numbers so i think the jury is still out on him. so what the packers lost LAST YEAR how many commenters teams went 15 and 1. this is a new year yeah i know are defense has problems but we will figure it out. and to touch on last year the giants didnt sack aaron rodgers till midway through the 3rd quarter if are recievers didnt drop 9 damn passes 2 of them touchdowns it would have been better for us but i digress. im not worried about this season id rather go 10 and 6 and clean up in the playoffs then what happened last year. but iaccept are loss to san fran but everybody talks about that punt return what about that bull call roughing the passer on 3rd down i think thats when the game shifted and the no call false start i think alot of you have selective memories. plus the 49ers dbacks were anally abusing our recievers with not one single call our way in thats area yes we got outplayed but those damn refs had a huge part in our loss but my overall point is we lost this battle but the fact of the matter is the packers are still better than most of your teams and all the hate confirms that we have been the best all last season untill the playoffs and the best overall the year before so for all you haters basing our entire season off of one game need to wait a few more weeks to make some of these wild claims some of you are making because they sound stupid after week 1 because by that logic the giants will go 6 and 10 this seasonbecause they lost to dallas. Jarret bush can say whatever he wants doesnt bother me but we need to get better on that d line. bottom line replacement refs need to go we need more penetration from that interior d line and wait till week7 or 8 to make wild claims people we have only lost 9 game including playoffs in the last 2 years we are going to the playoffs again so Stay mad and keeps hating us but when we beat your team remember what you said at week 1 GO PACKERS! i joined this site just so i could respond GO PACKERS!

A 49er fan on here made a great assessment. Don't put too much emphasis on what Bush said when the majority of the Packers players gave the 49ers great reviews. 49ers played very well, very solid, deserved the "W." Packers need to go back to work. Bush needs to shut up and learn to cover or sit the heck down. Also saw the usual, "refs let the Packers back in the game" garbage. Refs were HORRIBLE BOTH WAYS. Blatant fouls not called, iffy fouls called, non fouls called fouls. TERRIBLE job by the refs in all phases. They hurt and helped both teams and dictated a lot of the game in key areas. Block in the back on the punt return picked up was wrong. Raping of Packers receivers with no call on several plays was wrong as well.
49ers were much better on Sunday, but, it is a long season. I expect the young GB defense to get better, but they better hurry up about it.

When it comes down to it the niners are just an all around better football team. You can't rely on Rodgers arm to bail you out of every deficit. Their defense needs to pick their game up if they want to contend for a chance to play in the superbowl.

As a 9er's fan I was stoked with this win, the packers are a great team & to beat them in there home was huge. it's good to see so many packer fans tell bush to stop this crap about beating themselves. Packer fans are as passionate about there team as anyone but gracious enough to accept that they lost, bush & Matthews should do the same. Hopefully us 9er fans will be as gracious when we lose this year

thejuddstir says:

The Packers defense is…..BAD. The past two years they could hide their defensive defeciencies because of the huge leads they had due to offense but when Packers are in close games which seems to be more and more frequent, they are in trouble. I submit that opposing defenses have figured out how to slow down and do a much better job of containing the passing game. Discount double-check is finding it more difficult which does not bode well for the pack. As for clay matthews, he’s off the juice and not nearly as effective. woodson has become a liability, he couldn’t cover an offensive lineman without holding him.___________________

First of all what makes you think Clay Matthews is/was juicing? what proof do you have? that rumor from 2009 was never confirmed, and all the tests that they did run on Matthews came back negative for your info!

As a lifelong Bears fan, let me chime in on a few things:

1.) The Packers are not dead, certainly not so bad as to finish 9-7...I'll give that honor to Detroit.

2.) Thursday night promises to be a great game, both offenses will air it out, but defense will win it in the end. Bears 45-GB 35, but that could easily go the other way, too...Either way, I predict the Bears and Packers will compete for the NFC North crown, and challenge SF for that SB berth as well.

3.) Most Packer fans I've known, or encountered on sites like this, are knowledgeable and down-to-earth, and not much different from Bears fans...And there be idiots among us on both sides.

4.) No love lost in Packer-land for Jarrett Bush, and somehow I've never heard of him before now, at least not to remember...If he was any good, I'd most likely at least know his name.

5.) Can't wait for Thursday, may the best team win! (Or not beat themselves, in any case.)

So now you can either accept the reality of what “official paid attendance” means or you can admit that Chicago, Houston, Tennessee, New York (Giants) and New Orleans have more dedicated fans (willing to actually show up to a game).

The Packers game was sold out dude - as every Packer game is. The single game tickets available to the community sell out in hours, and the season ticket waiting list is larger than any other team in the league. The Elias Sports Bureau doesn't even officially track attendance because teams inflate their numbers artificially all the time. If you want to believe that the Packer game wasn't sold out, go ahead - but all tickets were sold.
Jarrett Bush should be the last person to say anything at all. I admit he is a damn good special teamer but he has absolutely no cover skills. I was completely baffled to see him start yesterday. It was even more baffling to see him start across from Randy Moss, of all players.

He just needs to realize the 49ers were clearly the better team yesterday. I admit the refs were horrible but that is no excuse at all. The Packers were not ready to face that 49er defense, which, I might add, is outstanding. As for the Packers defense, if you make Alex Smith look like an All-Pro, there is a problem. Let's hope the Packers patch things up before Thursday Night.

Fans from other teams should keep in mind that Packer fans have screamed "Why?" every time this guy has been resigned. He's also the guy who tried to play hero in the 2007 NFCCG by trying to scoop and run a late 4th Quarter fumble instead of falling on it.

Now for all the dopes saying the Niners "out physicalled" the Packers, you are morons who only look at the box score.

The Niners won on competence and execution. They had 0 blown coverages and made tackles every time. They also didn't cram the ball down the Packers throats, they took it outside to exploit the slowness of our MLBs. Did you see CM3 completely blow up a convoy of blockers only to have no one else there to clean up? Did you see Hawk get sucked inside on Gore's TD run and then give up halfway through the play.

The Packer O-line did a decent job pass blocking. Did you hear about Justin Smith at all? Did you see him planting Brees and Manning repeatedly in the playoffs last year? Aldon Smith was the main nemesis, there were plays where Rodgers would have run for 10+ yards against 90% of the league, but Smith completely held those in check to little or no gain.

You are the same morons that call talk radio and ask why the Packers don't play/trade/get the ball to guys that are no longer on the roster.

These self entitled divas keep expecting things to come their way because they are a part of the Packers. If they lose its not their fault but if they win they talk about how amazing all things Green Bay are. Its sickening how spineless their players and their fans are when they lose. Just accept the loss you divas!

If GB had lost by 3 points or less I would agree, because McCarthy and Rodgers both made some incredibly dumb decisions at the end of the first half to allow SF to get the ball back with a timeout remaining and get the miracle fg. But as it was, the Pack just lost to a better team. And if they keep using Bush as a CB for many games, they will lose at least 5 or 6 more. He's a great guy, very good special teamer, maybe can play a little safety. But he has no business playing CB in the NFL. I almost cried when I saw him lined up across from Moss.

LIFETIME PACKER FAN HERE,
My Packers were soundly beaten by a very good 49ers team. The score didn't justify the actual results. Same problems I was concerned about last season in the playoffs, NO PRESSURE on the quarterback from the interior of the D Line and our Left Tackle can't handle the speed rush from a hybrid linebacker. 49ers defense looked spectacular. I think the Pack can work out thier issues and I hope to see a rematch with the 49ers for the NFC Championship.

Well, I see pervy is back. The Vikings win one game and now he thinks what he says any sort of meaning.

That said, as a Packers fan since 1961, I think this squad is living in a fantasyland. Bush is the most glaring example of some really subpar players pretending to be All-Pros.
Anyone watching Sunday saw a 49'ers team whip Green Bay with solid, no nonsense, old-time football.
The McCarthy Packers are really a bunch of whiney wooses. The Giants beat them by being more physical and running the ball. So did the 49'ers. The only guy on the team willing to do some damage is Matthews, maybe Raji. The rest of the team plays like God has bestowed on them some kind of divine gift of championship instead of having to earn it.
The Packers can't run the ball. The linebackers are inferior(especially compared to the 49'ers), the secondary is a joke, excepting Williams. Woodson is old and mostly out of position. The offensive line is mediocre. The defensive line gets pushed around.

I'm a Packers fan, but McCarthy had better start facing facts: he can't match up anymore by just throwing the ball, and the defense better get better in a hurry.

9-7 is the best I can see for this bunch.

As a Packer fan, I have no excuses. The 49ers simply outplayed them in many aspects. The defense looked lost most of the time, no communication and horrible tackling. Too many times last year the defense has relied on the offense to bail them out and against an elite defense like the 9ers have, our offense got brought back down from elite to "good". If we plan on winning Thursday this defense has to step it up a notch.

Once again, props to the 49ers for winning, they are looking like the team to beat in the NFC.

An extended period of winning for GB has resulted in the creation of these kind of arrogant, entitled blow-hard fans. Most of Packer Nation is made of up of very nice people. But I think all of us has come into contact with the matthewcarlson1 type and it's getting really old.

Lots of packet hate. That's fine.

Truth is, the refs were bad both ways, so for the idiots saying that they kept the packers close, you obviously missed the calls that ended drives for the packers, most notably the face mask sack on the last drive that made it 3rd and 17.

Fact: the packers lost to another super bowl contender by one score. Saying one team is bad is saing the other team is bad.

supermariojosh says:

"You also apparently don’t have a clear grasp on what a “sellout” is and what paid attendance means. All tickets were sold, thus a sellout. Not all ticket buyers showed up, hence the paid attendance disparity – which could be the result of many things, not the least of which was probably rich box seat owners having something better to do with their millions yesterday. Again, duh."

As usual, a Packer fan has no clue.

"Official attendance" isn't the number of people that enter the gates - they only count the number of tickets sold. It's been that way for decades, but I guess I shouldn't expect a Packer fan to admit and/or know that.

Yesterday, playing the 49ers in what was a highly hyped game, the Packers "official paid attendance was 70,253 - or 96.7% of capacity.

In Chicago, playing the Colts in what was fully expected to be a blowout, the Bears "official paid attendance" was 62,341 - or 101.4% of capacity.

Besides Chicago, Denver, Houston, and Tennessee had "official paid attendance of 100% or more.

So now you can either accept the reality of what "official paid attendance" means or you can admit that Chicago, Houston, Tennessee, New York (Giants) and New Orleans have more dedicated fans (willing to actually show up to a game).

Either way, the Packers attendance isn't as great as what the typical Packer fan claims.

You choose....

BTW - I'm not a Bear fan - just someone that has been fully exposed to what the average Packer fan is like.

Again, duh.”

As usual, a Packer fan has no clue.

“Official attendance” isn’t the number of people that enter the gates – they only count the number of tickets sold. It’s been that way for decades, but I guess I shouldn’t expect a Packer fan to admit and/or know that.

Yesterday, playing the 49ers in what was a highly hyped game, the Packers “official paid attendance was 70,253 – or 96.7% of capacity.

In Chicago, playing the Colts in what was fully expected to be a blowout, the Bears “official paid attendance” was 62,341 – or 101.4% of capacity.

Besides Chicago, Denver, Houston, and Tennessee had “official paid attendance of 100% or more.

So now you can either accept the reality of what “official paid attendance” means or you can admit that Chicago, Houston, Tennessee, New York (Giants) and New Orleans have more dedicated fans (willing to actually show up to a game).

Either way, the Packers attendance isn’t as great as what the typical Packer fan claims.

You choose….

BTW – I’m not a Bear fan – just someone that has been fully exposed to what the average Packer fan is like.
