Saffold returns to St. Louis with neck strain, Wells to IR

Rodger Saffold

The news was relatively good for Rams left tackle Rodger Saffold, though he is expected to miss some time.

Coach Jeff Fisher said Saffold suffered a “significant” strained neck, but not a more serious injury, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Saffold stayed overnight in a Detroit hospital Sunday, but returned home Monday. He’s still expected to miss at least this week’s game with the Redskins, and perhaps longer.

The also know center Scott Wells will miss at least the next six weeks, as they placed him on the new injured reserve “designated for return” list.

Wells suffered a broken metatarsal in his left foot and will need surgery to repair it.

They’ll need the roster spot for depth, because they finished the game with no backup blockers, after plugging reserves into new spots to cover.

As a Lions fan who remembers Mike Utley Im very happy to hear that Saffold is going to be ok. I was at the game and feared the worst for him when they brought out the cart and backboard

I was really hoping it was just a “stinger” and it seems like that’s the case.

Honestly if the Rams had a little more talent on the O-line and a big play WR that Amendola could complement they would have a pretty darn good squad. They are going to surprise some teams this year.

A Redskin fan called the Rams “sorry’. Now that is hilarious. You should thank us for trading #2 pick to u or else it would have been a Redskin loss FOR SURE.

Could be worse for the Rams. Either way they are a young team with some parts still missing.

They should not be taken lightly as with any well coached team, they will play beyond that of their individual parts irregardless of who lines up.

A Rams fan that actually responded to someone calling your team sorry. Yes your team sucks! You earned the 2nd overall pick and correct me if I’m wrong but your team has a total of 15 wins in the last 5 years. Dude shut up!!!

What amazes me the most is this guy’s name is “voiceofreasonsays ” and he’s a Redskins fan. With that said, I wanted the Rams to draft RG3 and trade Bradford because I honestly do think RG3 WILL BE the real deal.
