The Eagles have seen enough of Jaiquawn Jarrett.

Jarrett, a safety who was viewed by many as a reach when the Eagles took him in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft, has been released. The move ends a career in Philadelphia in which Jarrett played in just 13 games, with two starts.

In two seasons Jarrett never made an impact on defense, and although Eagles special teams coordinator Bobby April was reportedly excited about Jarrett’s potential on special teams, he didn’t make much of an impact there, either.

To fill the roster spot made available by releasing Jarrett, the Eagles have re-signed receiver Mardy Gilyard.
