I would be fime with Kolb againsy Philly. Last year he was advising Skelton from the sideline on their blitzes. Good knowledge of that D and our D can put vick on his back again.

Best bet for the Cards is to start Lindley, have him fake an injury and continue to writhe around in pain — that’s when you make the QB switch. The important thing is that you don’t start Kevin Kolb.

Outside of Brady, there really aren’t many elite QB’s in the AFC any more – Manning in Denver, maybe Schaub if he can stay healthy, maybe Flacco finally gets there, and I guess you could include Roethlisberger. The Patriots play 3 of those 4. That being the case, who’s going to come in to Foxboro with a mediocre QB and suddenly light it up and keep pace with New England’s offense?

Skelton will return right at the time fragile flower Kolb is injured and out for 8 games. Then it will be Skelton’s turn again when he breaks a nail and writhes on the field in agony, and has to be carted off.

Oh that awkward moment…when you demote your incumbent starter at the last minute, only to promote him to starter a week later after injury.

Kidding aside – Kolb has a great opportunity. Fans want to see the Cardinals win. If Kolb can either lead the team to a victory or at the very least avoid costly mistakes, there’s a chance he could re-earn the starting job permanently.

Believe me – Whisenhunt would love Kolb to go on a tear and become the QB everybody wanted him to be, which would redeem the brain trust that decided to acquire him. Here’s his chance.

Kolb has a solid chance at redemption. A true shot to do to quarterbacks what they’ve done to him over the years: Take the starting spot from an injured QB.
