With injuries cropping up in the receiving corps, the Saints have brought back a veteran wideout they cut on their way to 53 players.

Alex Marvez of FoxSports.com reports the Saints are re-signing wide receiver Greg Camarillo. Camarillo was signed by the Saints on Aug. 19 and cut less than two weeks later when the Saints decided to move in a different direction at the position.

With Marques Colston, Devery Henderson and Adrian Arrington all dealing with injuries of varying degrees of severity, however, the Saints have veered back in Camarillo’s direction. Colston was questionable heading into Week One with a foot injury, Henderson left the Redskins loss after a head injury and Arrington has been dealing with a sore knee as well as his own tenuous roster status. He was dropped on Saturday when defensive end Will Smith was activated and then re-signed Monday when linebacker Jonathan Vilma was placed on the PUP list.

Camarillo spent some time working out with Drew Brees this offseason and spent the 2011 season as a member of the Vikings. He doesn’t figure to play a major role in the team’s offense this season, but injuries have a way of changing the picture in ways that are difficult to predict. There’s no word on a corresponding move to make room for Camarillo on the roster.
