He was better over Leroy Harris for the Titans, and I wish we still had him, but I think it came down to $$, as the titans didn’t want to pay what he wanted.

Wouldn’t mind see him finishing his career in Indy. The O-line is currently a turnstile, especially at the guard positions, and is going to get the young QB killed.

Jake Scott was the #9 ranked guard last year in the NFL according to the website ProFootball Focus.

I’m guessing that since he’s 31 years old, he probably would want a multi-year deal that takes him to retirement since contracts are harder to come by as a player approaches age 35. He’d rather wait until a team suffers a serious injury at guard and is forced to sign him at his preferred terms in desperation than take a short term deal.

I love it how articles like this come up about mediocre FA players and fans of crappy teams start saying “we should sign him to help our line” and other nonsense. The reality is most of these guys are no better than who you already have.

That said Jake Scott had some great years but he’s really slipped the last 2-3 years. If he could ever get back to his prior level of play he might be a decent pickup.

Bengals could use him. I don’t think Clint Boling is the answer at left guard after losing Travelle Wharton for the season.

Why wouldnt the cardinals make an offer in an attempt to shore their line up. May be useful to have an experienced player help their younger linemen. That being said, the point of the article is that he is being selective, which very well may eliminate az from being considered
