Tim Jennings (Chi) had two picks and a deflection in the end zone that ended up being picked off. I would take an extra pick over a sack.

Nobody ever seems to realize exactly how good Ronde Barber has been over the years. He’s a quiet, unassuming guy who plays in a largely forgotten market, and he’s been amazingly good for years. The guy has 11 defensive TDs (11 INT, 4 fumble), plus TDs on a punt return, a blocked punt, and blocked FG. Throw in the 92-yard INT return of McNabb in the 2002 NFC Championship Game that sent the Bucs’ to the Super Bowl, and the guy has a combined FIFTEEN non-offensive TDs, which IIRC is 4th in NFL history.

The guy has averaged more than 75 tackles a year as a corner, has 44 sacks and 28 INTs (the only guy with 40+ sacks at 25+ INTs in history), has played an unprecedented 200 straight games (45 more than the next DB on the list) and is always the smartest guy on the field. If he was loud and obnoxious and played in a major market like Dallas or New York, people would be screaming his name as a first-ballot HOFer.

Love Ronde, my all-time favorite Buc, but seems kinda strange he gets the award when he wasn’t even the best Buc defender on Sunday (that would be GMC). Still, see you in Canton Ronde.

That was a bad move on the Saints behalf to let him get away it showed sunday against the redskins to bad, and also Carl nicks, and robert meachem they were vital to this team.

Barber won’t make the Bucs a playoff team, but Porter makes the Broncos a much better team. Not that he’s underrated, but it allows Champ Bailey to perform at his best and makes opposing offenses respect the whole field.
