Cowboys extend young lineman Lissemore

Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Sean Lissemore tries to tackle Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb in the second quarter during their NFL game in Glendale Reuters

The Cowboys locked up one of their own, reaching a three-year contract extension with defensive end Sean Lissemore, according to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com.

The former seventh-rounder was already under contract through 2013, but this keeps him with the team through 2016.

He doesn’t start, but he is a regular in the rotation, and is viewed as someone who could take on a bigger role in the future. He can play inside and outside, and that versatility added to his value.

Awesome signing. This guy could be a starter and a staple of their D-Line for awhile.

Have to admit I wasn’t a huge fan of the pick when we drafted him, but after seeing his production and the motor he plays with. This was a no-brainer signing for us. He will be a reliable start by the mid way point.
