As the Bears try to dig out of a hole at Lambeau Field, they’ll be doing it -- at least for now -- without running back Matt Forte.

Forte has left for the locker room with an ankle injury. Though he wasn’t limping, Alex Flanagan of NFL Network has reported that the trip to the locker room came after Forte tested the ankle and determined he was unable to cut.

Replays suggest that Forte suffered the injury while being tackled by Packers defensive back Charles Woodson, whose knee struck Forte’s foot, causing the ankle to roll.

The Packers currently lead the Bears, 13-3.

UPDATE 10:52 p.m. ET: Forte won’t return, according to NFL Network.
