Flacco led the 12th ranked scoring offense, as I pointed out. Ben can’t even manage to break the top 20.

You steeler fans act like Ben is elite, but he clearly isn’t. Elite QBs don’t have offenses that rank in the lower third of the league.

He’s the best corner I’ve ever seen and to me it’s like New England losing Brady or the Saints losing Brees. Those teams could still score but not nearly as much as they would otherwise.

Likewise with the Jets’ defense they will get their stops and play relatively well, but losing your best player hurts. Not to mention the Steelers are desperate they know what going 0-2 means. If the Jets win I’ll be really impressed, I just can’t see it happening though.

Either way I’m sure it’s going to be a fun game to watch.

If the Jets can stop the run (which every Jets fan who watched the 2010 AFC Championship game knows is no simple feat) and generate a pass rush, then the Jets can make up for Revis’ absence. Cromartie is a good cornerback. He’s very capable of doing his job well. Granted, he’s very boom or bust but he’s certianly over-scrutinized because he is paired with Darrelle Revis and therefore plenty of extra passes are funneled his way. I’m more worried about Kyle Wilson.

And of course, how the Jets offense will do against an aging but still stout Pittsburgh defense is the real question.

Cromartie by himself isn’t very good, Revis shadows number one targets now it’s Cromartie’s job. Antonio Brown is going to have a field day because he’s a polished route runner which Cromartie struggles with. The Steelers were going to win this game anyways now it might get ugly, Revis is one of the best players in the sport and by far the most important Jet.

If you’re the Jets: it’s only week 2. You won your first game, this was gonna be a difficult one to win even if you had Revis. One Jonahtan Dwyer shoulder boom and now he’s out for 6 weeks.

If you’re Revis: your fat contract is tantalizingly close here. The Jets are either going to extend you or trade you bc there’s no way you don’t hold out next year.

Smart move by all parties.
