Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said Thursday that wideout Pierre Garcon’s availability Sunday would be based on “pain tolerance.”
If that was a shot across Garcon’s bow, the message apparently was received.
Garcon (foot) was limited in practice Friday and is listed as questionable, with Shanahan calling him a “game-time decision.”
“I think it’s pretty easy when it’s pain tolerance,” Shanahan said Friday in comments distributed by the team. “If he can go live with the pain and feels like he can go full-speed, then you let him go. If it’s a situation where you’re going to make it a lot worse, then obviously the chances of him playing aren’t very good. But right now, it’s a pain tolerance.
“We’ll see before the game. Obviously, he can take something and help himself a little bit. We’ll get a little workout before the game and we’ll know then.”
Safety Brandon Meriweather (knee) is out for the Redskins, and nose tackle Chris Baker (ankle) was probable.
