Bears apparently bringing back Bell

With Matt Forte on the shelf for a few weeks with a high ankle sprain, the Bears have apparently brought back one of their own.

Running back Kahlil Bell just tweeted that he was returning to the Bears, saying: “I’m taking my talents back to Chicago. So happy to be back. Never wanted to leave.”

The Bears had also worked out former Dolphins back Steve Slaton this weekend, a clear sign that Forte’s absence wasn’t going to be a short one.

Bell had played well for the Bears in spots, but the former undrafted rookie was cut in August when he didn’t want to take a $560,000 pay cut.

It was, in effect, a bet on himself that he’d find work, which he hadn’t, prior to today.
