Illness means Panthers could be thin on the defensive line

The Panthers could be thin up front when they face the Saints tomorrow, after a bug made its way through the locker room.

Defensive end Greg Hardy and defensive tackle Frank Kearse were added to the injury report as questionable Saturday with illnesses, according to Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer.

Hardy was listed as probable Friday, but coach Ron Rivera said he was “changing colors” earlier in the week, and was sent home.

Defensive end Charles Johnson was hit with the same illness this week but has recovered.

Hardy was a 16-game starter last season, but was replaced in the starting lineup by Antwan Applewhite last week. Of course, Hardy played 54 snaps to Applewhite’s 18 against the Bucs, so it’s unclear why the switch was made. Kearse was the third defensive tackle last week.

I bet Hardy was changing colors…he’s the one who just finished saying all that whiny junk about the Saints ” running up the score”. I hope for Carolina’s sake the changing colors was a result of all the excrement he had in him running out.

Oh oh… here comes 0-2 for sure for the Cats.

Fans are going to be wearing bags by mid-season instead of “We’re going to the SuperBowl” T-shirts that the coach likes so much.

Whenever inserted into the lineup, Thomas Keiser has stepped up. He deserves the nod tomorrow.

@weekendatberniemadoffs–Exactly… Thomas Keiser is such a beast, he will get a jersey tomorrow and I gurantee he will record at least 1 sack and 5+ tackles. This guy is a hidden Gem, and all he does is produce when he gets in the game. Also look for some big things from rookie Frank Alexander he played good last week with 2 batted down passes. I think if we can pressure Brees into making quick reads we can win this game. LETS GET UP PANTHER NATION!
