They were tight because they lost. Got eviscerated by Eli and their QB threw a TERRIBLE INT. That was a frustration move, not them “playing until the clock hit 0:00″. Don’t get it twisted.

I know, I know, that’s not fair if you think the game is over, even if it isn’t. Anyone defending the Buc’s is an idiot. I would guess that the odds of causing a fumble let alone returning it for a TD are astronomical. Not eniugh time to run a play had a fumble been recovered.

Also, ALL teams do the kneel down under similar circumstances, even the Buc’s, so the comments about playing hard to the last second is just an excuse for their unsportmanship conduct at the end of a game they lost!

I switched to the game 3 times to check the score. On 2 of them I watched a play where the Buc’s player was grabbing hold of the Giants jersey thus preventing a pass completion. (no flag thrown!) So it’s BS claiming the game was given to the Giants.

Always be curious for years of why 22 pro football players do a “neel down” the last min of a game. To me its un-professional, you play till the bell rings or whistle blows. If TB had knocked the ball from Manning and returned it for a TD, the sports media would be praising TB for playing out the last min. Now its a cheap shot, what BS, its pro football and you play the last down like the first down. That neal down is sissy stuff and this is what the Giants deserve.

Here’s a scenario I’d like to see. The Bucs opponent up by 21 point with 5 seconds left and with the ball. Fake the kneeldown, throw a flea flicker to the sidelines, crashing into schiano and take out both of his ACL’s and MCL’s. Ah!!! now thats Kharma.

If the Bucs’ D-line is in four point stances, seems to me that the Giants’ O-line should have picked up on the fact that they were going to play to the end. I fault the Giants for being lazy on the last play.

This is pretty simple to me, with the game being less than one score apart one team who wants to win keeps playing and is one turn over from maybe something good happening. the other team is a premdonna who expects everyone else just to lose to them and stop trying. The headline should read New York to Tampa.. Why are you guys still trying? The game is almost over already! just let us win already ok!

So what happens on that last play if the Giants have a bad snap, fumble the ball around for a second and the Bucs players just stood around like a bunch of d-bags, then everyone would be saying how stupid the Bucs are for not playing the full 60-minutes. The Giants shouldn’t be complaining about this, they should be happy the refs gave them a win. After this fit of whining the Giants should change their name to the New York Bearded Clams.

I saw a bit of bush league by the Giants as well.

This was the first time that the replacement refs did a bad job during a Bucs game…and it was REALLY bad.

There were tons of calls that should have been called on both sides…and if they had been there probably would not have ended up so many injuries.

But bad calls actually cost the Bucs possessions, unlike the Giants.

And the dweeb that said the Giants dominated the game all game is stupid. Obviously he only watched the second half.

Has anyone even watched that play again? Eli was NOT hit by a Buccaneer, his own linemen fell backwards into him. Maybe the Giants O line should remember to protect themselves at all times during a full contact sport. It is amazing how everything gets blown out of proportion with the Giants. Eli didn’t even fall down hard, he simply rolled backward. If someone was TRYING to hurt him, they would have. So many QB’s take their time kneeling the ball to take a few extra seconds off the clock. Imagine if a fumble was forced before a qb’s knee hit even just one time. Then all of a sudden this would be done by every team, every time. It has to start somewhere.

The hit on Vincent Jackson going across the middle should have been a 15-yard penalty for hitting a defenseless receiver. Had it been called, Freeman would not have thrown the interception.

You may not think it should be a flag (I dont think it should be), but according to Goodell’s safety rules…that’s a penalty. And the no-call changed the game.

Yet Coughlin is going to complain about being too rough on the kneel down? Give me a break, Tom.

I don’t see it as a cheap shot. They were still trying to win the game. If the Bucs are able to strip the ball and get it back to try and tie/win the game then no one would be listening to that old coach whine. If playing hard at every snap even a kneel down is wrong than the NFL has become terrible.

The Giants couldn’t close out the game until the refs overturned an obvious call with 16 seconds to go — and down by 7 with the ball in Bucs territory the Giants wanted the Bucs to not touch them on the last play of the game? They should change their name to the New York Brokebacks.

The hit on Jackson clearly should’ve been called. Watching on TV, I’m guessing I didn’t catch all the plays Talib held his man (might’ve been all of ‘em) – this should’ve been called as well. I think the non-calls were equally awful. Ironically, I flipped stations right after the interception so I didn’t see the drama on the kneel-down.

I’m a Bucs fan, and just got into a disagreement with my Giants fan friend about this one, so I’m going to try to be as objective as possible when I ask this:

Aren’t teams supposed to spend all 60 minutes of game time trying to win?

I thought it was brilliant. I’ve also, like someone said above, always wondered why more teams don’t try it. Sure, the odds are way against it working. But you’re still supposed to be trying to win, right?
