Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith’s being carted off the field, with an apparent leg cramp.

Smith went down after drawing a pass interference penalty, and hobbled away from the play before going to the ground. He initially walked off the field to the sidelines, but was just carted to the locker room.

Trainers were looking at his right leg, and he was limited in practice last week with a right knee problem, and was wearing a brace.

The Panthers are up 28-13 thanks to remembering they were a running team, but missing Smith for any amount of time would make it difficult for teams to honor their passing game.

UPDATE 3:13 p.m. ET: Smith’s back in the game. He’s a tough little guy, but tends to overdramatize minor injuries sometimes.
