The Eagles are not being outplayed. What game are you watching? Both weeks they gained more yardage than their opponent and their defense played better. Every stat except turnovers favors them.

Plus, to me, their offense looks exactly the same as it did last year. The difference is they are overcoming their turnovers. Last season they had five games like the first two of this season. In 2011, they lost all five of them. Had they won just one of them, they would have gone to the playoffs and the Giants would have stayed home.

In 2011, the Eagles defense gave up five 4th quarter leads. Not in 2012, though.

Really? Just the first 20 minutes of that game saw the refs throw flags on FOUR personal fouls and one unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Hard to see that the final flag was arbitrary and came out of nowhere. I think you should have just stopped at “was the correct call” … kinda feels like we’re reaching for criticisms of the refs at this point.

Also, the Eagles have out-possessed both the browns and the Ravens, who actually have a pretty good team if you did not know.

As far as the Eagles being legitimate contenders, you would have to consider them in that conversation. The fact that the Eagles have turned over the ball so much and are still winning games really says something about their team.

Not only is Vick out of character with his turnovers, but Shady McCoy is also out of his characters. His rookie year he had one lost fumble all season. Second year he also had one fumble. Third year he had one fumble. This year he already has two. You have to assume he won’t keep up that pace as well.

There are many other things that contribute to the argument of the Eagles being “legitimate”. They have the NFL’s fastest offense. Desean is going to be playing much better than he did last year, since he has already started to prove it this season. They also upgraded their defense with 2 stud rookies: Mychal Kendricks (linebacker) and Brandon Boykin (the nickel corner) who just owned ex-pro bowl reciever Anquan Boldin.

And oh that defense, thank you Houston Texans for Demeco Ryans a gift from the football gods themselves. In a game where Ed Reed, Ray Lewis and Haloti Ngata were on the field the best defensive player was wearing midnight green Ryans was everywhere yesterday.

You can look at the turnovers and say they got “lucky” but I see it differently. I think the other teams got lucky that the Eagles turned the ball over so much. If they didn’t the Browns and the Ravens yes the Ravens would have both lost to the Eagles by double digits.

I was surprised that the Eagles moved the ball as well as they did against the Ravens D. Three red zone turnovers are what stopped them from taking a big early lead.

This is not the same team as last year, but with this offensive line as banged up as it is, this season can come crashing down at any moment.

I’m not disagreeing that the eagles lead in the stats but the Eagles have been extremely lucky that there’s been only 6 picks and 2 fumbles (i think?) on Vick. The defense has done extremely well so far but the Eagles were extremely lucky that the opposing defense in both games let a few easy INTs slip through there fingers.

Against the Browns, the play immediately before the winning TD pass hit the Browns defender in both hands, it was a relatively easy pick that, thankfully, the defender fumbled. The game should’ve been over at that point.

I think he did it again to a Ravens defender (Ray Lewis?) on another scoring drive.

I’m glad the Eagles won but they can’t keep turning the ball over. They very easily could be 0-2 if a few of the defenders had caught balls that hit them in both hands.

Any team that has an offense that can run with them, doesn’t have half the defense.

Teams with defense as good as theirs, are trash on offense.

The only thing that will stop the Eagles is what has stopped them so far this year. Unforced turnovers. If the Eagles and the opponent both play a clean game, I don’t see a team taht can beat the Eagles.

That being said, they have to cut the turnovers, or it doesn’t matter
