You seriously saying these Rams gave up on LFB? That was damn near 10 years ago!

Hey, I’ll give credit 2 RG3 and Morris all day. They gashed the the Ram D. But some reason got away from it?

I don’t want to hear Redskins fans whine about the refs. Especially a game in which a TOUCHDOWN WAS TAKEN AWAY from the Rams, and up 21-6, and 28-23 at different points of the game. Maybe your concern should be directed at Haslett, who all Rams fan know all too well.

The Rams couldn’t stop Griffin and the Skins 6th round rookie RB Alfred Morris averaged 5.6 yards a run. And with the game on the line the Rams 7th round RB had the ball stripped from his hands by a 37 MLB the Rams gave up on. So whats your point?

The Rams were the better team yesterday, but not by much. 3 points to be exact.

And if you think Jenkins hit on Davis was legal then this conversation is over. Perfect example of hit to the head of a defenseless receiver. And if that BS horse collar was called on Lorenzo Alexander on that last punt returned by Amendola, then Jenkins hit on Davis should of been called.

As I said before, the Scab Refs were horrible throughout the game. Their calls affected both sides.

As soon as I read “Finnegan’s punch to Josh Morgan’s head” I just laughed. What punch? It wasn’t even a punch, it was a swipe and was walking away. Granted, I didn’t know what he said, if anything but punch? C’mon man.

Jenkins’ hit was perfectly legal. It was led w/ the shoulder. Just b/c your guy got hurt (and I’m not wishing injury) doesn’t mean it was illegal. Jenkins’ helmet crown isn’t anywear near his head.

Better team? Yeah, I think the Rams were. Considering they were down 21-6 at one point. Maybe Washington’s D should’ve stopped them once in a while. Or contained Daryl Richardson, 7th round rookie. Or get more than a 3 and out in the 2nd half, without the refs’ help.

I am a Skins fan and I have made blanket statements on this site that the Scab Refs were horrible. Didn’t say they solely impacted the Skins or were responsible for the Skins loss. Just that they were overrall piss poor.

What I have said is that the Rams played dirty yesterday. That is a fact. The Rams set the tone early in the game yesterday that they would take cheap shots from the outset. STarted with little scrums after the whistle to cheap shots on London Fletcher and Fred Davis at the end of the game, finally culminating with Finnegan’s punch to Josh Morgan’s head that led to Morgan losing his friggin mind.

In the end though the Skins lost the game and they deserved to. You won’t read me say any different, but please don’t pretend that the Rams were just the better team yesterday in a game decided by 3 points. You would be doing Chuck Cecil a disservice.

Orakpo:
2010: one game missed(leg)
2011: successful pectoral surgery (just because a shoulder surgery is a success doesn’t mean it will never be an issue again, especially when an offensive lineman stomps on it on purpose while going for a loose ball)
2012: 3 preseason games missed (shoulder)
yesterday: 4 plays missed (shoulder due to uncalled cheap shot in a loose ball scramble)

Landry:
2009: one game missed (bloating, cramps)
2010: 4 preseason games missed (shrinkage), 7 games missed (achilles)
2010: unsuccessful achilles surgery
2011: 8 games missed, 5 games early exit (achilles, also probably shrinkage)

How can you possibly compare these two players? While their injury situation is clearly not even remotely similar, they are completely different players on the field and in the locker room as well. Orakpo may not be a phenomenal run-stopper, but part of that is because he’s past his blockers so fast it becomes a moot point. More importantly, unlike Landry, he really cares. He’s a smart player, a pass-rusher who is nowhere near his peak yet, and there is no way Washington could possibly gain a competitive advantage by trading him.

The point is, Redskins fans complaining about the officiating are not saying that if there was better officiating, Washington would have won the game. They’re just complaining about really sloppy and potentially dangerous officiating that could have cost them their best pass rusher for the season, will likely cost them their starting tight end next week, and could have cost the career of one of the greatest middle linebackers ever to play the game.

The best part was RG3 yelling at the ref that the Rams tackler hit him helmet to helmet… as he was scrambling down the field.

The refs, the announcers, and beavertonsteve are all wrong on that call: yes, the quarterback is obviously no longer untouchable as he’s scrambling down the field, however the tackler still cannot lead with his helmet into a helmet. That’s what James Harrison and Dunta Robinson got in trouble for last year, thus creating the phrase helmet to helmet.

The defensive unit let us down by letting a weak Rams offense do things. In particular Hasslett…but the unit typically comes back strong after disappointing showings. I pity the Bengals…they will be our homecoming and team we take out whatever anger is there on. Our offense is clicking, so no worries on that end.

Sorry, “voice”, but unless you’re on the team (doubt it), a coach (doubt it), or Daniel Snyder (doubt it), can you please quit with the “we”, “us”, and “our”? You have nothing to do with the team and how it plays. You sitting in front of your computer ALL DAY (obviously) has no bearing on the game.

Jenkins, Golston, and Baker will and can fill Carriker’s shoes and Rob Jackson is a damn good OLB in his own right. Not the pass rushing stud that Orakpo is, but Jackson is a player and Chris Wilson on 3rd downs works as well.

Thats why I find the negative comments about Shanahan over the years from Skins fans and non-Skins fans laughable. Shanahan is in the midst of a complete rebuild of an NFL organization that has needed a rebuild since 1993. Thats a rebuild that cannot happen overnight.

Right now there are still some holes on the Skins roster (O-line and secondary), but for the first time in forever the Skins have quality depth at a lot of positions that didn’t exsist before. Defensive line, Linebacker, WR, and RB. Carriker and Orakpo will be losses, but there are backups behind that can fill in and succeed.

And enough about the Rams game. Its over. The Rams are finally led by a quality HC in Fisher and they earned that victory. Time to move on.

Exactly my point earlier…although I believe Rob Jackson isn’t nor wasn’t the high draft pick that Orakpo was, however, don’t sell him too short, I think he is more rounded OLB than Orakpo or should I say he’s more effective playing the run and will get the same pressure as Orakpo does on pass plays…wait and see…but other than that again you’re points are very good/valid…

And that’s not excuse for the game: the Rams played well and deserved the win, I’m talking about the helmet to helmet on a defenseless Fred Davis two feet in front of the ref that obviously knocked him unconcious; the WWF-style body slam on London Fletcher, that could have potentially broken his back; and the physical assault of Mike Shanahan that went totally unaddressed.

The Rams played a heck of a game, Sam Bradford looked amazing, and they absolutely deserve the W, my point is that about half of their players also deserve a one or two game suspension.

Who do you think put the team together? You can’t blame the stupid penalties on the coach. I think the players should be held accountable.

Now the defense played like total garbage and the special teams were bad again. Banks should be cut. Smith needs to be fired. Haslet will probably be gone as well. I’d promote Raheem Morris to DC.

But hey! We’re competitive this year. Every game should be interesting.
