1. First and foremost, congrats to the Rams. Offense shredded the Skins D and the defense did just enough to win.

2. Refs were AWFUL. On both sides.

3. Losing Rak and Carriker is going to hurt. No, their not the best in the league but losing starters hurts.

4. Skins are much better than the last few (10?, 20?) years but it will not show up on the record like some are expecting.

5. Those saying the Skins can’t find anyone in the draft because we gave up 2 1st Rd. picks? I forgot that every starter in the NFL was a 1st rounder. You never find any pro bowlers outside the top 32 picks. Would the trade have been better if we gave up 2 2nds? Fact is the Skins got a legit QB. That is worth the price and then some.

Both the Rams and The Redskins have been total embarrassments for a long, long time. At least the Rams had a high point with Warner, but that ended badly once he left. As for the Skins? When were they last relevant?

The day that either of those teams can win a few playoff games, then you can expect some scheduling favoritism.

Until then, there isn’t enough value. And don’t bring up the RGB3 experiment. One win against a bad ‘Aints team doesn’t make him the next Joe Theisman. Wait, that’s probably a good thing.

Losing Orakpo and Carriker is not devastating no matter how much you want to believe it. We were prepared for many scenarios and the coaching staff did a good job assembling proper depth. This team is one of the best teams in professional football! A complete football team. The Redskins will be fine and we are going to the playoffs. RedskinNation, have faith. This is our era and sure there will be bumps on the road, but stay the course and eventually lift many more Super Bowl trophys in the next decade. HTTR.

Orakpo was hurt last year, but didn’t miss any time. Had surgery as soon as the season was over and was in football shape by May. He hurt it again in the preseason, but the point is that he has missed one regular season game in his career: in 2010, with an ankle injury. Sounds a little bit different than “always getting hurt”, doesn’t it? Don’t make things up.

What? Not that I actually care about the approval ratings I receive on PFT, but how can a comment which is an absolute fact receive three thumbs down. That’s like me saying, Peyton Manning is the Broncos quarterback and receiving thumbs down.

I guess I’m just confused by the mindset of the PFT commenter. Brian Orakpo has missed one regular season game in his career, in 2010. He didn’t miss any games in 2009, his rookie season, nor last year, in 2011. These are facts. You don’t have to like the Redskins, you don’t have to like Orakpo, but you can’t deny facts.

For a guy to re-damage the same part, doesn’t sound too promising.

No, if the pec was torn clean from the bone that would be a different story, but this is just a torn pec: still a serious injury but not a career threatening one.
