The Raiders didn’t see fit to sign pass-rusher Andre Carter when they worked him out last month, largely because he wasn’t fit.

But he’s going back today for another look.

Jason LaCanfora of CBSSports.com reports that Carter will visit today, and that the Patriots are still “monitoring him closely.”

Unlike some old receivers fans get fascinated with, there’s a reason to think teams are interested in Carter, who has also worked out for the Rams and Cardinals in the last month.

He had 10 sacks for the Patriots in 14 games last year, before a torn quad that required surgery. If the Raiders brought him back a month after his first look, they must be thinking he’s close.
