so for us non football guys , then you are saying Shaunessy, and Houston are no good, going out this off season and signing Dave Toleffson, drafting Jack Crawford, and signing Bear, and Meatoga to the practice squads were mistakes, and can’t bring pressure. Now I know why the cornerbacks are playing 5 to 10 yards off the receivers and playing so loose and soft coverage. Thanks for the clarity. For a minute there i would have sworn are front four was one of our strengths.

joetoronto: I don’t necessarily know if the pass-rush is actually all that horrible. While they only recorded a single sack against Rivers, they did keep the pressure on for most of the game. Rivers really only had a few solid chances to stretch the field. The rest of the time it was short check-down plays.

What killed the pass rush against Miami, was just the fluke big run plays from Bush. That forced them to honor the run a more, so they couldn’t come as hard against Tallyhoo, or whatever his name is.

It’s still the offense that’s killing Oakland. They can’t put any points on the board, so the defense is stuck on the field for too long. If they can get a few touchdowns early in a game, I bet that pass rush will look a whole bunch better all of a sudden.

Belichick is as ruthless as anyone in the business. If Carter wants to make more money while playing for a crappy team he’ll go to the Raiders. If he wants to make less money while playing for a championship-go-to-the-playoffs-just-about-every-year team he’ll sign with the Pats.

But Belichick will not give him as much as the Raiders will – it just won’t happen.

I don’t care who the Raiders sign as long as it helps the team and he knows how to tackle. Maybe this week will be a whole class on how to tackle someone carrying the ball. I thought at least they’d be able to beat the fins. What an embarassment. Still a die hard Raider fan!!!!!

I think Reggie is a pretty strait shooter. Probably made an offer before, but said go see what other’s offer you can get. Maybe Andre just really wants to come back home and play in the bay, and is willing to take a little bit less to do so.

Fact is DE is the least of our needs right now. Whose going to play DB now that we have lost both of our starting corners to injuries. Losing Spencer is a huge blow, esp after losing Bartells……..sorry but cutting DVD was a HUGE mistake…..Pat Lee, and Hansen played way to loose on the edges, and 10 yards off of the receiver at line of scrimmage. They made dolphins wr Brian Hartline look like a pro bowler.

If Allen is a great coach who knows how to coach the secondary…….then time to show it. If not Ben will pick us apart Sunday.
