Such sage words spoken by a guy who’s played at the NFL level. MrHigh, you’re name fits now go roll another to ease those aches and pains.

I think it’s funny that the 9ers were going to start 0-2 and that signing Moss was the stupidest offseason move any team could make this offseason. Idk how the 2012 season is going to end for the 9ers but so far, none of the absurd predictions made mostly by an infantile skins fan, HOODAT’s and LEO fans have even remotely happened.

i thought the whole time haurbaughs idea for randy is take it easy this season, get you some catchs here and tds here keep you in shape and get your feet back under you for 16 weeks and then unleash him in the playoffs… he prob told randy listen..well do the work in the regular season but when it gets time to get that chip i need your to be randy moss, i want you to show everyone that thought you lost it all season that you will destroy anyone in your way and get you a first ring. and randy being 35 and ringless prob loves the idea

Moss is aging as wine. Also gaining a little intelligence with age. He is learning just as the kids that playing in SF is more of a mindset & no one steals the show here. As a team only! SF is a great example of how sports franchises should be run. Names mean little,production speaks & gets the nod. How to get more involved here? Do more when your opportunities arise. Manningham did Sunday night & got more snaps. In SF the players on the field are the players who are producing. Otherwise to the practice squad with you no matter who. No diversified value as James or Jenkins? In SF only the elite need not do more than 1 job! In SF winning is important. Not popularity contests! This is why all beg to stay with this team. I feel SF will improve tremendously with this renewed confidence Smith has showed & the talent surrounding him now. I see nothing but enjoyment from watching them. How good are they? Well they are playing the same common sense mistake free football(I know Hunter’s turnover{1}) as last season with improved offensive results. Watch what happens when SF really dominates the time of possession with the offensive control of the ball they have illustrated. I recently ridiculed ftgambit over her prediction of a perfect season. I have never ate my words on subjects as this but must say that record is in jeopardy. If any team has the ability to go undefeated it’s this team. Their schedule is their nemesis but after their performance in their first 2 games shows me that possibilities exist. Will they? Most likely not(due to their schedule) but with the difference in offensive control of the ball could put this topic into a reality. I have watched the best in SF history but realize when I see a well maintained & serviced sewing machine having all the bells/whistles. I’m seeing one in SF & been enjoying the hell out of it!! S

Has it occured to anyone that the reason that Moss is avoiding taking hits and is getting a limited amount of reps is the Niners are trying to SAVE him for the playoff push?

For Moss’ entire career he’s HAD to be ‘The Guy’, now he doesn’t have to be the guy, there are plenty of other guys that can carry the load. Moss wasn’t brought in to carry the load in the regular season, he was brought in to put the Niners over the top in the playoffs.

Moss has put in his work, his regular season numbers are hall of fame worthy, Moss came back for the one reason, that’s to win a ring.. he won’t win a ring in the regular season, it’s won in the playoffs.

Moss is still a very effective WR. These numbers are after the 2nd week, teams still plan for him, and they are probably resting him a bit before a playoff run and to get him acclimated back into the NFL again.

You would have to believe that Harbaugh sat him down & spoke about this before any deal was offered or signed.

After Braylon Edwards complained last year about his lack of touches & found himself getting kicked off the team . You would have to figure Harbaugh wasn’t going to make the same mistake again.

Does Randy want more touches??? OF COURSE!!
But, with one last shot at a ring & him coming in this season talking about him wanting to “leave the league on better terms ” & ” dispell some of the rumors that he is a bad person”. I think Randy realizes that IF he can put his ego & numbers aside. Then he might have a legitimate chance at that ring that he has been chasing for years!!!

Sounds to me like Harbaugh is trying to lull the Vikings into thinking Randy won’t have a big role in their game against the 49ers on Sunday. I think that Randy is fired up to come home and put on a big show in front of the Vikings faithful and in the place (Metrodome) where he made his bones. I hope Randy has a big game but the home team pulls out a victory against the best team in the NFL.

As a 9er fan I would like to see him used more but we’re winning so can’t argue much there…….just hope he doesn’t throw a “give me the damn ball” tantrum

Moss could’ve stayed away from the NFL, living off his money and playing golf (which is what he did last year while out of the league).

He understands this is his very last chance, and the fact that he’s talked to the media once in the past 4 months makes it clear that he knows a lot of people are waiting for him to say something even mildly controversial so they can blow it out of proportion.

He’s on a 1 year deal with a Super Bowl contender. It wouldn’t surprise me if he continued to stay mostly silent to the media and did whatever his team needed.

Two things:

(1) Last year, Vernon Davis hardly touched the ball for the first few games. Harbaugh and Roman seemed to rotate their featured receiver based on game plan and/or matchups, last year. They may not rotate features so much this year, but I’m kind of expecting a “Randy Moss Game” pretty soon.

(2) No offense to Minneapolis, but I doubt anyone is complaining about the food in SF.
