I bet a drunk Michael Turner could tear up a Waffle House menu at 3am.

    Awesome

  13. cardmagnet says: Sep 18, 2012 8:25 AM

First, a replaceree who was a Saints fan. Now, perhaps, a cop who is a Broncos fan?

(I say that humorously for those who wouldn’t pick up on that)

  14. mrbigass says: Sep 18, 2012 8:25 AM

    Ha!

  15. winkeroni says: Sep 18, 2012 8:25 AM

Reset the Days without an arrest clock! And to think it was just a few days ago we were worried about it getting to 100.

  16. walletweb says: Sep 18, 2012 8:25 AM

Reset the arrest meter! Wasn’t Florio going to wear a hulu skirt on Sunday night football if the meter ever got past 30 days?

  17. stubbyjones says: Sep 18, 2012 8:26 AM

YES! The arrest o meter is reset and now all is well in the world….

  18. stubbyjones says: Sep 18, 2012 8:26 AM

    …I mean…what a dummy…

Blame the replacement refs! That seems to be the new trendy excuse for grown professionals to act like children anyway.

MT has always appeared to be a smart, down to earth guy. Disappointing to hear.

  24. tmac4454 says: Sep 18, 2012 8:37 AM

    How do you say it:
CMON MAN!!!!!!! Hire me for your designated driver. I will even drive my own vehicle. SMH.

  25. oriolesvsravens says: Sep 18, 2012 8:38 AM

Does this mean he won’t be starting Sunday?

  26. beckzhere says: Sep 18, 2012 8:41 AM

As a Falcons fan, I appreciate what he has done over the past several years for the team. But I was really hoping he would not be in the starting lineup this year. Snelling should be the #1 with JacQuizz his compliment. I’m tired of Turner’s typical 1-2 yards up the middle BS. Hopefully this will get him benched for at least a few weeks.

  27. daleatl2 says: Sep 18, 2012 8:43 AM

Drunk maybe. But I have a hard time believing that he was doing anything fast.

  28. crazycane says: Sep 18, 2012 8:43 AM

If this would’ve been replacement cops, they would’ve been discussing for hours what they should do. Eventually he would’ve sobered up and they wouldn’t have arrested him.

  29. bucthat says: Sep 18, 2012 8:48 AM

This is just funny at this point

  30. west4420 says: Sep 18, 2012 8:50 AM

At least he just drove drunk, I mean Cutler doesn’t smile during interviews. I feel that is way worse.

  31. jwisz says: Sep 18, 2012 8:51 AM

I think some of you are being a little harsh on poor Mike. I mean, dude is only making 5 million this year. That is hardly enough cheddar to put together some cab fare!

    (eyes rolling)

  32. pacodawg says: Sep 18, 2012 8:52 AM

And I thought he was slow afoot?

  33. ihaterogergoodell says: Sep 18, 2012 9:00 AM

Sources in the APD say Turner was easy to spot as his car was missing its fastest gear and could only move forward 2 yards at a time.

  34. fringetastic says: Sep 18, 2012 9:01 AM

Kudos to the Atlanta cops for not giving him special treatment.

  35. pottymouth777 says: Sep 18, 2012 9:06 AM

    I blame the replacement officials.

  36. skins23 says: Sep 18, 2012 9:06 AM

If he was speeding, he clearly did not have a football in his hands.

  37. melikefootball says: Sep 18, 2012 9:16 AM

These so called profesionals never fail to amaze, their stupidity.

  38. tannethrill says: Sep 18, 2012 9:16 AM

geez, what time did the game end? did he start drinking in the shower?

  39. pacodawg says: Sep 18, 2012 9:24 AM

APD must have had action on the Broncos.

  40. truthfactory says: Sep 18, 2012 9:25 AM

They knew he was drunk because the cops saw there was open lanes available to him, but he chose to slowly mash up into the cars right in front of him instead…

  41. deadeye says: Sep 18, 2012 9:26 AM

I don’t blame the guy, he realized last night his career is over. So long and thanks for all the memories Turner.

  42. ernestbynershands says: Sep 18, 2012 9:30 AM

So how many days was that without an arrest?

  43. dmq13 says: Sep 18, 2012 9:36 AM

I bet his BAC was higher then his yards per carry

  44. ballboy48 says: Sep 18, 2012 9:39 AM

He’ll get suspended, but for how long? 1 game? This guy could’ve killed someone, or himself! Meanwhile, Haden took adderal and may have been prescribed, and gets 4 games! Only in the nfl!

  45. ilikebjsongamedays says: Sep 18, 2012 9:49 AM

No special treatment for Turner here. APD cares about the Falcons’ offense way too much to just let him off the hook and back on the field. Smart move Justice

  46. abninf says: Sep 18, 2012 9:49 AM

He’ll get off easy. Goodell is soft on DUI’s.

  47. jwil007 says: Sep 18, 2012 9:51 AM

The game lasted very late so he left the stadium and went straight to a bar then drove way out to Gwinnett at 4-5AM???? Bad move…..very bad move. Gwinnet County lives to get DUI’s… I have heard of road blocks right off the interstate on 3 or 4 exits in a row….Hang in there Mike

  48. kane337 says: Sep 18, 2012 9:53 AM

Now we know why he is over weight.

  49. sj39 says: Sep 18, 2012 9:53 AM

Wow, I can’t believe how many comments imply that he is not a good RB. Beast’s like he and Steven Jackson get a bad rap from fans because the are big and seen as lumbering but I bet if you asked D-lines and especially Secondary’s which RB’s they hate to face the most both would be right up there.

  50. inthezone4 says: Sep 18, 2012 9:56 AM

He should have hired a limo driver to do 97 in a 65 while he gets blitzed in the back seat and this way he can blaze down the road and be a drunk at the same time legally. Well atleast for him. All the talent and money in the world and these guys throw it away.

  51. whatifisayno says: Sep 18, 2012 10:00 AM

Well, time to reset and start anew. It was a great run and I thought it would last until the bye weeks began at the very least.

On a side note, I wonder when Turner started his drinking binge? The game ended about quarter after midnight Eastern time. He was booked just after five. Did he start drinking in the locker room or perhaps on the sideline?

  52. jolink653 says: Sep 18, 2012 10:16 AM

Nice to see he can still get to 100…unfortunately it’s miles not yards

  53. Chad Bartel says: Sep 18, 2012 10:38 AM

DUI laws in this country are so ticky tacky.

Arrest real criminals instead of milking the citizens for extra cash flow.

I’ll bet he was going less than ten miles over the limit and he barely at the legal limit. It’s a friggin’ racket set up by states to keep the Federal funds flowing in.

  54. dfalcon3522 says: Sep 18, 2012 10:43 AM

Turner tried to run from the cops last night, he was stopped after a 1 yard chase!!

  55. commonsensedude says: Sep 18, 2012 10:50 AM

Absolutely no excuse for this whatsoever. If the authorities start putting drunk drivers in prison for at least a couple of months, not giving people the option for when they can start serving their sentences (i.e. after football season), I’ll bet guys will start calling cabs.

  56. granadafan says: Sep 18, 2012 11:22 AM

The Atlanta PD did their jobs. However, will the District Attorney’s office do their job and throw the book at Turner or will they be all starry eyed and give him a plea bargain for say, tinted windows? Turner will hire a high priced scum lawyer who will put out a PR spin job and release “apology” statements in perfect grammatical English that PFT will report as “Turner Apologizes” even though the guy can barely speak words with more than one syllable.

  57. eaglesfanintx says: Sep 18, 2012 11:24 AM

So, how many people just checked their teams schedule to see what week they’re playing the Falcons and try to determine if the suspension will still be active?!

  58. tiredofyoureferringtoateamaswe says: Sep 18, 2012 1:17 PM

I actually laughed out loud when I read this. Thanks Mr. Turner for the laugh, I feel much better.

  59. onbucky96 says: Sep 18, 2012 4:10 PM

Can we get a comment from D. Smith? I mean, the players he represents can’t stay out of trouble. Man up coward, and call out these jack-asses that put US in danger when they get drunk/high and then drive! Paging Roger to the ATL, since D.Smith won’t di anything.

  61. lobzila says: Sep 19, 2012 8:50 AM

As a Charger Fan, Please Mr Goodell, hand down his one game suspension tomorrow.
