No Eagles visit for Chad Johnson

Chad Ochocinco AP

Unless Chad Johnson plans to do calisthenics in the driveway of the team’s facility, the Eagles won’t be watching Chad Johnson work out on Tuesday.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk has learned that Johnson’s tweet early on Tuesday about a visit to Philadelphia was not a cryptic way of announcing a visit with the team. Johnson’s Twitter account has featured no new updates about his travels, but feel free to head over if you’d like to know what music Johnson listened to this morning during breakfast.

The Eagles have been dealing with injuries at wide receiver the last couple of weeks. Jeremy Maclin’s status for this weekend is unclear because of a hip injury that limited his practice time last week and the team hasn’t had Riley Cooper at all because of a broken collarbone. If they do decide to look for help at the position, their gaze will not fall on Johnson.

Johnson was released in August by the Dolphins after he was arrested on domestic battery charges.

the man just wanted a cheesesteak from Gino’s. yes Philly fan I too have traveled far for a Gino’s cheesesteak. usually on my way home from Atlantic City after a weekend of loose women and gambling. I figure as long as i’m living dangerously I may as well visit your dirty city and get some grub… Hail to the Redskins!!!

Crazy stuff….i mean who doesnt want an old, washed up, bi polar, self centered, stone hands wide reciever who will become a cancer in the locker room?

My eagles dodged a bullet there

Why would he? They already have Jackson and Maclin. And “the best slot receiver of all time, ever, in the history of the game” as Andy Reid says. All he’d do is such oxygen out of the stadium.

Wait, we might finally be done with Chad AND T.O.?

Isn’t that a sign of the apocalypse?

If you’re eating at Gino’s then you’re not enjoying a real cheesesteak. In fact, you’re one of the idiotic tourists that everyone makes fun of. Neither Pat’s or Gino’s have good cheesesteaks. You’re doing yourself a disservice by eating at these places.

The Macho Man would call TO before he would ever consider Chad Johnson. Oh Yeah!

for the literate among us – You know, the more I hear about Chad the more I’m thinking his and T.J. Houshmandzadeh’s relationship is a lot like the relationship in Of Mice and Men (dumbed down of course) – let’s hope for a better ending.

You need to try Tony Luke’s. Geno and Pats got nothing on Tony Lukes

Please share…… As a tourist, we have to go by what “locals” or advertising tells us. Usually there are better small “hole in the wall” food places, but they are unknown to people not from there.

And to the moron who hates Tourists, why would you have a problem with people from out of town coming and spending their money in your city? I try not to believe all the bad things that are said about Philly fans but with comments like that it is hard not too.

please stay out of philly. to was enough for a lifetime.

Pats and Geno’s both are for the tourist trade, or for those that want to pretend they are cool.
Tony Luke’s, on Oregon ave is good, Cheesteaks are their second best sandwich. Dalessandros on Henry Ave, Jim’s on South St and Chinks on Torresdale are all good
There are hundreds better than either Pats or Gino’s. You could almost pick a small shop at random and find one.
That goes for S.J. As well.
Pretty much all of them are better than those bozos at 9th and Passyunk.

What the individual you are criticizing was saying is that Gino’s and Pat’s serve supermarket minute steaks and any local would laugh at that person. Because those establishments are 24 hours, out of towners

Are able to grab those fast food cheesesteaks while enjoying the night life but aren’t truly getting a good steak sandwich.

But please stop with the under handed comments about myself and the rest of our fan base. I’ve been to the majority of other stadiums and cities in pro football and the only difference between us and the rest of the fan bases is that we’re pointed at and ridiculed. Last time I checked, we haven’t shot anyone (like in San fran), or beaten a man until he was brain damaged ( like in LA)….

Good. The league needs to just wash their hands of this idiot. As a Bengals fan, and former Chad Johnson fan, I was ready to get rid of him the moment he changed his last name and stopped producing on the field. He used to be one of the top receivers in the league, and now finds himself facing jail time for headbutting a “woman.” Real classy, Chad. Good for the Dolphins for cutting him ASAP after he was charged with domestic violence. Good for his wh*re gold digging wife for divorcing him. I sincerely hope she takes all of his money so that he is forced to flip burgers for a living. Too bad we all know that he thinks he is too good for that. Get off twitter and go educate yourself, Chad. People stopped caring about you years ago. You deserve everything bad that is happening to you.

To all non Philly people : “Geno’s” is the cheesesteak place on Passyunk. “Gino’s” is the hamburger and chicken place founded by Gino Marchetti ( Colts HOF), which had been dormant for 30 years before making a comeback in both Baltimore and Philly in 2010. Also, as many posted, only tourists think either genos or pats have the best Philly cheesesteaks. Dellasandros in Roxborough and Chink’s in Tacony are just 2 of many places in Philly better than Genos.

So what was a bigger mistake for the Eagles? Not paying up for Chad a few years ago, not giving away the farm for Roy or not drafting Ricky? Their management is really inept. Isn’t that what everyone says in Philly?

Hanging Chad is finished. Question is, what if he hadn”t hit his wife? Would he have been an option????
