So the league gets to cross examine the players about their statements bit does not give the players a similar chance to cross examine Greg Williams and former Saints assistant Mike Cerullo. Is this what the NFL thinks is a fair hearing? Haven’t we had enough of this Commissioner? .

The additional opportunities afforded the accused players under this so-called “do-over” of the disciplinary proceedings does, in my view at least, seem to undermine the “evident partiality” argument launched against Goodell, as well as the assertion that there has been no “industrial due process” afforded to the players.

It’s also noteworthy that Gregg Williams’ declaration at page 7 of 7, paragraph No. 16, states: “I have previously provided the information contained in this Declaration as well as OTHER FACTUAL DETAILS NOT SET FORTH HEREIN (emphasis added) to NFL investigators.” Could that possibly explain why Williams’ declaration doesn’t reference what Cerullo alleges about Kurt Warner?

Finally, the Cerullo declaration at page 3, paragraph 11 contains what I think is an amusing reference to Cerullo being called the “lower court,” and Vitt and Williams being referred to as a “supreme court judge.” In my opinion, that may actually lend credibility to Cerullo’s declaration because I don’t think you can make stuff like that up! lol

Would this be the same Mary Jo White who determined that the video of Anthony Hargrove shouting ‘give me my money’ was proof-positive of his involvement, up until it was proven to not be him and Roger Goodell said it doesn’t matter who was shouting that? I’m sure that interrogation went swimmingly. Anthony Hargrove is ultimately going to be the guy with the biggest claim against Goodell when this is all said and done.

Seems to me that playing for the Cleveland Browns is punishment enough. Instead of attending in person, he can just send his staph.

“The next question becomes whether the NFL will delay the eventual appeal hearings before Commissioner Roger Goodell so that all of them can be done at once. If that happens, this dispute may not land back on the bench of Judge Helen G. Berrigan until mid-October, at the earliest.”

For Vilma – the delay is the best possible scenario – he gets more game checks and then is suspended for the rest of this season and most of next season (when he won’t be in the NFL anymore anyway).

For the Wilson and Fujita – it just means that their suspensions will be later in the season. It could screw up their availability for the playoffs – but there’s only a slim chance that either of them will be looking at playing games after the regular season ends anyway.

For Hargrove – it probably just doesn’t matter.
