Reminds me of pitchers who get raved about for getting out of bases-loaded, nobody-out jams that they got themselves into, while the guys who quietly get them out one-two-three are ignored.

1) The Chargers’ wins were two convincing blowouts, while the Cardinals were two tight affairs (yes, I understand the quality of competition but a convincing win is a convincing win).

2) The Cardinals are a terrible fumble, a phantom holding call negating a touchdown, and a horribly blown field goal away from losing to New England.

When the Chargers stop blowing teams out and the Cardinals keep showing their first two wins weren’t flukes, I will put put the Cardinals in the mix.

Yet they are only 22. Yet the Redskins lose to the RAMS….the RAMS and they’re 16?

I’m sure that is a great comfort to Dolphin fans. Citing that useless statistic reminds me of the stuff Bengal apologists spent the 1990s and early 2000s coming up with to “prove” their team “isn’t that bad”.

As for the Power Rankings themselves, I don’t pay much attention to them until around Week 9. Until then, IMO there is insufficient data from the current year, too much influence from previous years, and the serendipity of the schedule (one team playing the tough part of their schedule while another gets the relative creampuffs). Come November, we have a better idea of where teams really stack up.

I gotta say I agree with these power rankings. Most accurate one yet, but… The Giants should be lower (and I’m a Manning/Giants/Colts fan)

Too high: Patriots*, Ravens and Eagles.

Too low: Cardinals, Seahawks and Bengals.

Actually if the Eagles don’t turn the ball over they are Easily a top three offense. Even with the turnovers they are still a top ten offense. It isn’t unreasonable to conclude that the Eagles have a chance at finishing in the top 5 in both offense and defense this year. This team can be scary if they can stop taking bad penalties and stop turning the ball over.

As for the Cardinals, the only reason I see them not being ranked higher is because their offense has looked porous from what I’ve seen. Can’t be giving one of, if not the best, receiver in the game one catch. Their defense is pretty much legitimate though, and they’ll go as it goes.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the Eagles lost to the Cardinals if the offense continues this way, but I don’t know if the Cardinals have enough to hold up with an improved defense.

Do you REALLY think they’re going to throw 96 ints in one season?? C’mon there isn’t enough drugs in the world to make anyone actually believe that. Once they stop the turnovers they’ll be blowing teams out. They didn’t BARELY win those games, they ALMOST lost games they were dominating. Look at the stats, top 5 D and #1 offense against two more-than-decent defenses.

You have to look beyond the score to properly analyze a team. I didn’t know that was rocket science.

Actually, philly is not even close to the number one offense. Just because you have more total yards doesn’t make you number 1. Points per game and time of possesion matter way more and they’re tied for 26th in points/game. And what makes you think Vick won’t keep turning the ball over. He threw 14 picks last year and thats with him throwing less times than 20 other starters in the league. Some threw over 200 more times than he did and had less interceptions than he did and lets not talk about fumbles

They beat the 0-2 Saints and lost to the Rams.

They also lost Carricker and Orakpo for the season. They will fall swiftly.

The browns had a linebacker not had hands of stone they would be and a call gone the other way in the ravens game they would undoubtedly be 0-2. Number 4??? Lol and cardinals defense was one of the best in the league last year if you forgot they won like 6 in a row to end the year. And now they beat two good teams and nothing? I’m a bills fan. They’re ranking is about right. Bottom 12 of the league.
