It was Jeff Fisher’s bounty that he put on Merriman after Vince Young injured himself running into Shawne Merriman during a run play. Kevin Mawae and Jake Scott combined for a cheap shot and it was later found out that he had an MCL tear and he tore the rest of his partially torn ACL cause he played injured, thats why he lost his explosion and pass rush prowess, and since he came back in 2009 season he reinjured his Achilles three years straight, so enough with the “it was the juice” crap he just hasnt had a chance to play healthy since 2007, if he was smart he would have had surgery after the 2007 season possibly played in 2008 or not then come into 2009 training camp 18 months from surgery instead of coming in with less than a year of rehab from acl surgery

I was looking forward to seeing what he could do when he was fully healed, but Gailey, Nix and Wannstedt came to the conclusion that Shawne was not any better than the second string guys he was running with during preseason. It was a major disappointment seeing Merriman play for two minutes and end up with another injury, I believe he was injured more than he was healthy while he was here. I guess everybody was right about him and the steroids, once he came off of them his career was over. Its a shame.
