APGreg Schiano’s bringing back his old Rutgers plays, so why not his old Rutgers players.
The Buccaneers announced they had re-signed wide receiver Tiquan Underwood, releasing wideout Preston Parker to make room for him on the roster.
Underwood was in camp with the Bucs, but was released in final cuts. The Bucs continue to tinker with the receiver position, after signing Jordan Shipley in this week.
Underwood had a productive preseason, but they kept some other receivers on the grounds of special teams ability. Whether the man with the high top fade is ready to contribute there now remains to be seen.
Aside from his haircut, Underwood is probably best known for being cut by the Patriots the night before the Super Bowl, something he’s shown no bitterness about.

Hey Kid, where is Play at?
The 80′s are looooong gone, how bout chopping down that hi-top?
Everybody’s favorite 6th receiver.
He never should have been cut in the first place. He clearly outplayed almost every receiver during the preseason except Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams.
Does this guy even bother putting stuff in his locker?
Patsfans everywhere are pulling for this guy to make it somewhere in the NFL
Unlike half the NFL fanbase that seemed outraged when Belichick *gasp* assembled a roster to give him the depth he needed for the Super Bowl, Underwood clearly understands that rosters change and evolve depending on the opponent.
So he’s clearly got football smarts, and doesn’t put his own ego before his team’s best interest.
All he needs to do now is prove he can consistently contribute on the active roster.
Dont know why the Pats got rid of him, he clearly has expertise in operating video recording equipment, I’m sure that could’ve come in handy, right?
He is the real life son of Christopher (Kid) Reid…
Congrats to him. Sure has not been easy for him in NFL but he keeps a good attitude.
