No. Great defense happens during the play. Before the whistle blows kidneys can be ruptured, legs can be Theismanned, and skulls can be cracked: that’s called football. But after the whistle, leave it be, that’s called being a decent human being, and I don’t think many of the great would agree with you that being a football player and a decent human being are mutually exclusive.

Seriously? Are you really attacking a player for not calling out individuals on the opposing defense? Can you imagine the uproar if he did?

Either way, if you want names and specifics, anybody watching the game, in Washington or St. Louis, could tell you.

On the first drive of the game, Jo-Lonn Dunbar shoved Griffin’s face into the ground after a hit. The hit was clean, but after the whistle sounded Griffin tried to get up, and Dunbar slammed his head into the dirt. That drew a flag.

A couple plays later, Griffin took a hit from Robert Quinn. Seeing that the head shove drew a flag, instead of letting Griffin get up, Quinn put his forearm on Griffin’s windpipe and held him down for a little while.

Then there was the hit that came when Griffin was three or four feet out bounds that sent him flying across the sidelines and took out an entire camera crew.

And that’s just Griffin.

Then there was the helmet to helmet shot on Fred Davis (Janoris Jenkins, model citizen), stomping Orakpo’s injured shoulder (Roger Saffold), and piledriving London Fletcher’s spine. I have no idea who that was, I was too surprised by the whole thing. In all the years I have watched football, I have never seen anything so totally tucked up as a body slam to the lower back of a 37 year old linebacker who wasn’t even involved with the play (he was twelve feet behind the line of scrimmage, trying to get to his feet, and the play had been blown dead three seconds before).

So if you were looking for specifics, you’re welcome.

The comment that he made about being a target was a bit childish, but after playing only 2 games in the NFL (and having to play in an environment with piss poor officiating) I’ll let this one go.

Ummmm, RGIII has played 2 games.

He hasn’t earned the right to be mentioned in the same category as 2x Super Bowl winners Ben Roethlisberger and Eli Manning, 1x Super Bowl winners (and currently most elite passers in the game) Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees, or the best QBs of the generation Tom Brady and Peyton Manning – who are 5 years from the Hall of Fame the moment they retire.

Hmmm lets see…. QB Rating of 111.6 (4th in NFL), 70.9 Comp% (4th in NFL), 9.56 yds/att (2nd in NFL), 3 TD to only 1 INT…. not to mention 124 rush yds and 2 TD (best of any QB in NFL). I’d say for a ROOKIE in his first 2 starts (on the ROAD by the way) that is pretty damn awesome.

C’mon I watched the Titans and guys like Finnegan, Mawae, Haynesworth, and Van Den Bosch showed the greatest sportsmanship and fair play I’ve ever seen.

What the Rams did was football. Football is a dirty sport at every level. Always has been. You do what you can get a way with. So for everybody that says it’s just football, then turn around and blast the Saints you’re a dunce and a hypocrite.

Or maybe it’s the blatantly, obvious dislike for Robert Griffin III.

What would be the reaction of Tom Brady said this? Andrew Luck even…Ryan Tannehill? Pretty much every white QB.
