Cutler calls out Webb, and Cutler is a jerk.

This fool doesn’t hate anyone, but I never held my tongue and said before Cam’s first game that I thought he was about ME and not about TEAM.

Yes, he set rookie records. But that doesn’t mean squat when you’re thinking about TEAM and a winning season.

For some reason Cam apologists like “realfootballfan” have to drag out the old “hater” label instead of dealing with facts, and the facts about Cam Newton are painfully obvious:

1) He’s a young man with talent and potential.
2) He’s extremely immature and self-centered.
3) He’s not taking advantage of the old school pros around him to reach his potential.
4) He’s throwing interceptions and then putting towels on his head and crying on the bench instead of talking with the coach and figuring out what happened.
5) The Cats are now 0-2.
6) Etc., etc., etc.

I wish this young man the best, I really do, but so far he’s not shown the maturity to be a TEAM leader, and frankly from what I’ve seen he’s never going to…

Possibly the best football observation I have read today… maybe this month, maybe this year! Good Point dude.

We also need to fire Sean McDermott or maybe Ron Rivera. The defense is not looking good even with everyone back from injury. Our offense as a whole needs to get better, but we have a ton of youth so we should just improve.

This is not the beginning of the end. Cam-a-lot shall rise as a dominant team.

Victor Cruz is far more humble, doesn’t salsa when losing (see New Orleans game last year), accepts that he has a rookie-pay contract when his numbers last year suggested he could have held out and/or demanded top 10 WR money… and most of all, knows he only performed well for one year and has to prove it again. He follows Eli like a lost puppy and soaks up all the knowledge he can from the veterans.

Cam Newton thinks he’s God’s gift because he set a few running-QB season records, was Rookie of the Year, and makes top-draft-pick money, even though his team had a losing record. The veterans try to counsel him, but apparently Cam doesn’t want to learn… or listen. He needs to know that all his future opponents will watch the Giants’ defensive film to learn how they stopped the option all night – and that if his next talking-to comes from Rivera instead of a teammate, he may find plenty of time to sulk.

Another fool is comparing him to the maturity level of Peyton Manning, you know, Mr. “We had protection issues” when he was throwing his offensive linemen under the bus yet again after another disappointing playoff loss. And then there’s the clown prince of these comments talking about giving terrible Jimmy Claussen another shot because “he’s got the right attitude,” despite his immature attitude being one of the reasons he went in the second round to begin with (besides him sucking).

These are all actual hilarious takes within this comment section being put forth by people who for some reason have an unnatural hatred of this player. Get that hate out of your heart. Unless you’re a Saint, Buc, or Falcon fan (which I highly doubt all of you are), it’s unnatural to have such a reaction to a player.

Now that’s a leader. Steve Smith is leading by example. Don’t slouch on the bench.

That may be true, but why does it seem like teammates are so willing to tell the media everything that’s going on in the locker room? If you talk to a teammate about his attitude, shouldn’t that be between you guys?

Much as I agree Newton is probably a prima donna that needs to learn maturity, I’m not sure that’s a great comparison since Peyton has been in the league for over a decade longer. The Broncos are basically HIS team and HIS offense. He’s been his own offense coordinator for years, tried and tested as a leader and now has more knowledge on the game than physical ability. Newton, is a totally different situation.

With that said, the ONLY good reaction in the NFL comes after a Win. Before he was a 2x SB winner, Eli was constantly questioned because of his demeanor after a loss wasn’t emotional enough, the opposite of Newton. If a couple receivers don’t have miraculous catches, popular thinking about Eli would still be “Gomer Pyle cannot lead”. Then you have everyone’s favorite Cutler, who is TOO emotional and really seems like the kind of guy you’d want to deck. If he won 2 SB’s, we’d all probably start talking about how great his ‘competitive’ spirit is. Truthfully, most of these guys are just guys. They have different personalities, which only comes into question because they’re losing.

How do the Mannings react to adversity? How does Tom Brady react to adversity? Now look at RGII, Luck and Cam. How will they react to adversity. We saw Luck come back strong the next game. We believe RGII has the same character makeup and will come back fighting and stronger after a loss…except for criticizing the other team for playing dirty. Cam…we shall see.

But the Superman label took a huge hit last night and we see that he can be his own kryptonite.

on another note. whoever keeps calling those option plays with newton needs 2 be fired..it will not work against good defense. yeah its a good play every once in a while in a game but when u do it consistantly you will get what happened last night…taking a L

I don’t think Newton ever will get it. With that said, I hope Jimmy Clausen gets another chance in Carolina because he has the right attitude about team first.

Let Cam go make his millions as a cultural icon. Maybe he can hook up with Snoop Dog and do a football blues routine or something.

It’s a pretty striking difference, especially since at the end of Manning’s game, his team had erased a double-digit deficit and only needed one score to win, while at the end of Newton’s game, the Panthers were completely buried.
