Dustin Keller will not play on Sunday at Miami

The Jets are heading to Miami without tight end Dustin Keller.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that Keller, who was listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins.

Keller also missed last week’s game against the Steelers, and having him out two weeks in a row is a tough blow to a Jets offense that had planned to rely heavily on Keller this season. Last year Keller led the team with 65 catches and 815 receiving yards, but this season Keller has just one catch for seven yards.

With Keller absent, Jets receiver Santonio Holmes will need to prove that he’s right when he says the Jets’ receivers can take advantage of the Dolphins’ secondary.

Now the Dolphins can focus on containing outside receivers and plugging up run holes. Huge break for a team that has a history of trouble covering tight ends.

This was probably the player I was most worried about…at least on offense. Keller is a good player who always had production against Miami. We will shut down their run and Holmes will have the chance to prove his remarks about our secondary.

Knowing Sanchez is the qb throwing to Holmes makes Fin Nation feel a lot better about our chances.

If we win tomorrow Florio will be a ghost. If we lose he will be the first one to write a negative story about everything Fins.

Why are you waiting for his approval anyway. Just enjoy being a fan of your team and who cares what the media think……. Don’t sleep on Cumberland now that Keller is out. Can’t block but can catch. Same as what Keller brings anyway.

@peepeetoucher….. wow, I can’t believe that I just typed that.

It’s just a little stale that every article written about the Dolphins has snark running thru it…. regardless of the outcome. Guess his homerism in not under control.
