Pierre Thomas thinks positive about the Saints

Pierre Thomas, Josh Norman AP

Yes, the Saints are 0-2.  Yes, there are plenty of factors that may be fueling the team’s early-season slide.

But running back Pierre Thomas retains a positive outlook on the team, and on his career.

The sixth-year veteran joined PFT Live on Friday to discuss the Saints’ early-season effort, his first 100-yard rushing game in three years, whether he wishes he was in a system that would give him more opportunities (like former teammate Reggie Bush), whether the team should have had quarterback Drew Brees in the offseason program, and Pierre’s “I Can” foundation, which fights childhood obesity.

It’s a must-watch for Saints fans who are feeling a little edgy as the third Sunday of the season approaches, and for any football fan who appreciates a thoughtful, unselfish player who hasn’t gotten more attention during his career because he isn’t the kind of guy who goes looking for it.

Of course he does! All he has to do is live oout his life-long dream of playing NFL football and they, in turn, give him tons of $$$!! What’s not to like?

    Oh Wait! Donte Whitner!

It’s easy for Saints players to feel optimistic when the hapless Chiefs are in town.
