The Buccaneers may have bigger problems than being 1-2.
Defensive end Adrian Clayborn left the loss at Dallas with what appeared to be a serious right leg injury. According to Stephen Holder of the Tampa Bay Times, several players suggested the injury was season-ending.
Clayborn was emotional as he left the locker room wearing a brace from thigh to ankle, and his teammates were clearly upset.
“He’s the beast on our defense,” defensive tackle Gerald McCoy said. “You can always expect a big hit from him or a dynamic play of some sort. That’s what he means to our defense.”
Asked about Clayborn’s condition, coach Greg Schiano said only: “We’re going to have to wait and see until tomorrow.”
Clayborn had 7.5 sacks last year, and was the one consistent source of pass-rush for the Bucs.
