C.J. Spiller hurts shoulder at end of another long gain

We just posted on the great day for C.J. Spiller and the Buffalo Bills offense.

That post is now as obsolete as 8-tracks and letter writing. Spiller broke free for another big gain after a short pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick and got tackled by Browns defensive back Usama Young. Young brought Spiller down right on his left shoulder and Spiller immediately made it clear that he was in a lot of pain. He’s been carted off the field and the visuals weren’t one of a player that’s coming back quickly.

In other words, Fred Jackson’s rapid rate of recovery may have just gone from being a nice bonus to a necessity. Tashard Choice takes over as the Bills’ running back while they sort out Spiller’s status.

And, if all that wasn’t bad enough, the 25-yard gain was called back as a result of a holding penalty on Stevie Johnson. They still lead 14-0 and haven’t allowed a Cleveland first down, though.

Apparently, being a Buffalo Bills running back is bad for your health

Wow, Bills cannot get lucky at all. Just when they start rolling it always seems that injuries derail thier seasons. Whoever is in charge of training and keeping these guys healthy, must lead a charmed life to keep their job.
