Vikings running back Adrian Peterson said this week that the 49ers haven’t seen a running game like the Vikings.

Maybe Peterson was just trying to draw cover for the passing game.

On a game-opening 16-play drive, quarterback Christian Ponder completed six of eight throws for 48 yards, capping it with a fadeaway two-yard throw to tight end Kyle Rudolph.

Peterson added 19 yards on eight carries for the drive that consumed more than half of the first quarter.
