Getty ImagesFor the second time in just under a week, a well-known player on the Atlanta Falcons has been arrested.
Atlanta police arrested Falcons defensive end John Abraham today on charges of obstruction of police and obstruction of firefighters, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
The Atlanta Police Department said police and firefighters were responding to a call about a woman threatening to jump from a building, and Abraham refused their requests to leave the area. It is unclear why Abraham wouldn’t leave the area, or whether he knows the woman.
The woman did not jump and was not injured.
The obstruction charges are misdemeanors. Abraham, who has started all three games for the Falcons this season and is tied for the team lead with two sacks, is expected to be booked at the Fulton County Jail and released.
Last week Falcons running back Michael Turner was arrested for drunk driving just hours after the Falcons’ victory over the Broncos on Monday Night Football.

I wish Mike Harris would have obstructed John Abraham’s path to Philip Rivers on Sunday.
You’ll never catch up to the Vikings, give up Falcons!
The dirty birds are back.
Reset the counter at the right… 6days back to zero!
He’s been negatively influenced by Michael Turner. Waiv’em both!
guess it is standard procedure for one falcon to get arrested a day after each win.
He was just singing “wish you would step back from that ledge my friend” from the song jumper by third eye blind.
What do these two things have in common?
Saints wins this season.
Number of days since last arrest of an NFL player.
Both are Zero.
write me a letter
send it by mail
send it in care of
the Birmingham jail
This sounds like nothing. Police throwing their weight around. Probably just butt hurt because Abraham wouldn’t move when they said to
Sounds like a smart and reasonable guy.
Maybe the woman WOULD HAVE JUMPED if JA55 left the scene. Ever think of that y’all in that there media?
Why would he do this ?
Reset the counter!
I’m gonna withhold judgement until the whole story comes out, but whatever the story is, it’s never a good thing to get arrested.
Friggin cops are out of control.
Probs wanted to just catch her if she had jumped….
NFL football players should be above the law of the common person.
Move along. Move along. Nothing to see here.
CLASSLESS BUMS! This team is a bunch of criminals…
Maybe the Falcon’s need their own arrest counter lol
You can tell that city is definitely rubbing off on him.
Sweet! We are starting to get back to that 1 arrest per week average! Reset that bad boy to 0!
Standing up for his rights in the Police states of America…if don’t see it..coming to an area near you!
Matty Ice gets arrested next Sunday after their game for soliciting a hooker. Write it down.
Falcons are the new Lions/Bucs/49ers.
Derelicts
two thoughts here as a Saints fan.
1) Q: Who Dat? A: Everyone
2) Falcons are quickly becoming the Bengals of the South, except they win, too.
Unless that was my ex wife up there getting ready to jump there’s no excuse to do something like this.
My brother-in-law is a detective w Atlanta PD. He was at the scene of and arrived a few mins into the ordeal. Apparently Mr Abraham (they didn’t recognize him at first) was wearing a 1920s style pork pie hat with a “Press” tag tucked into the hatband. He said his name was Walter Crunkrite and had a notebook and pencil and repeatedly asked the officers for “the scoop”. When asked to leave the area, Abraham insisted on using a phone booth to call his “miserable boss”. They found his behavior strange but unusually polite. The problem was that he simply refused to step outside the police tape. So he was handcuffed and led to a squad car while telling the officers that his boss would be upset that he “didn’t get the scoop”.
[satire]
dang falcons. 3 wins going to that head.
Drew Brees says they are both innocent and did nothing wrong.
Most non-talked about year in and year out impact player I’ve ever seen. Well, he’s finally in the headlines now LOL
Fight the power!
I don’t think this is anything. It was probably a family member and he wanted to make sure nothing happened to. I don’t see why else he would be at the scene
Why does the Turd Watch still show 7 days without an arrest?
Abraham took in some of his troubled nephews and nieces that’s one of the reasons he stayed in atl. My opinion is it is more related to that than anything.
Looks like he was just trying to go home…
