With all the attention on the Seahawks-Packers decision and associated fallout, it is apparently the perfect time for teams to sneak in punter transactions.

The Bills and Eagles have already done it, and now the Lions have followed suit.

Detroit put Ben Graham on injured reserve with a calf injury, and signed journeyman Nick Harris to replace him, according to the Lions official website.

For the record, it’s season-ending injured reserve, since they used their designated for return slot on cornerback Drayton Florence.

Harris spent eight seasons with the Lions (2003-10), spent 2011 with the Jaguars and was in camp with the Panthers this summer, losing both jobs to drafted rookie punters.

Graham was injured prior to his first punt, which was returned for a touchdown. That left kicker Jason Hanson to fill in the rest of the day, but the Lions needed a long-term replacement.
