Keep in mind that this all happens in less than a second. If Schaub pulls a Roethlisberger and pump-fakes, it’s a completely innocuous hit. How is Joe supposed to plan for all scenarios there?

The turning was from Shuab throwing the ball. Mays went helmet to face mask, head first and he hit Shuab clearly before the other guy even touches him.

From the angle and height of approach, the lowering of the head to spear position, and the pulling back of the arms in an effort to go head first, this was absolutely a dirty illegal shot. He deserved the suspension.

Keep in mind, as a Bengal fan I do not care if Mays takes him out, but the was purely his intent.

Ok … WR, DHB in hosiptal overnight, play wasn’t even flagged and the same player who hit him,”MUNDY” (the scrub who McFadden juked out his jock strap for 64 yard TD) also hit TE Brandon Myers on the GAME WINNING drive helmet to helmet, Myers also has concussion and no flag was thrown.

AHHHHHHHHHHH,is right. Why didn’t they call the illegal shift on the raiders before the td?? Why didn’t they call the obvious hold on Ike during that long run by your scrub receiver. Everytime someone our team made a play,a raider tried and succeeded a helmet to helmet (3-4 times)to one of our receivers that were never called. what about the late hit on Ben’s ankle that wasn’t called. I could go on and on but why when we lost the game in the end by not protecting the ball. Everyone’s team had crappy calls.

Do you have the actual numbers on how many roughing calls a QB gets? Not being sarcastic but I would love to see the actual data.

Anecdotal evidence from a few years ago recalls Brady getting a roughing call when Suggs brushed against his thigh trying to avoid hitting him. Brady complained. Got the call, then smiled about it.

Please go watch the replay. Mays is aiming right at Schaub’s left shoulder and at the last fractional second Schaub gets hit from the other side, opening up his chest area. Mays hit him in the chest, under his helmet, and that’s what forced his helmet off.

Mays did nothing wrong here and The Commish and league office are going off of how it looked and how they want QBs to be perceived. What a joke.

Honestly I just don’t get why fans think that Brady gets all these calls. The facts do not support their argument. If you actually look at the numbers when the REAL officials were calling games Brady gets less roughing calls than guys like Jason Campbell, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Ben Roethlisberger, he actually gets fewer calls than all but 5-10 quarterbacks.

It’s just a classic example of group think. No facts to back up the argument but since fans have perpetuated this myth for so long some take it as fact it’s sad.
