just curious jammer, but is there a LT sitting around somewhere just waiting to be signed? just because they picked up another rb doesn’t mean they couldn’t also grab another LT if one was available that they liked. they’re not mutually exclusive.

Roy Helu Jr. just got put on IR so the signing makes perfect sense. They looked at Tim Hightower but his rehab from a torn ACL last year is apparently going a lot slower than hoped. They also resigned CB David Jones who they cut earlier.

Not sure how much this guy has left in that 29 yr old body, especially coming off an injury. We’ll see…..

Anyone know how he is out of the backfield, and in pass protection? I’m assuming that is why he was signed. We need a RB that can pick up blitzing LB.

Good signing, but we need a defensive coordinator. And it’s not the players. Jim Haslett came on board and turned that top 10 defense into the second last in the league with all the same players Greg Williams had. Haslett sucks as a coordinator. There is talent on that defense. Just need someone who knows how to play to his defenses strengths. Haslett ain’t it.

If they HAD to sign a RB, it should have been Hightower or Torain, they already know the offense and have produced at times with the Skins. I know Royster is out this week but Helu must be banged up pretty bad too because this seems like a desperate move. Hopefully they run the ball a ton because right now the D is playing like a team you’d want to schedule for homecoming and we need to keep them off the field. PLEASE don’t lose to Tampa…

I hear ya. I have him and Royster. I had Grant for about 4 weeks last year, starting him twice, and dumped him. Sure wouldn’t suprise me if Shanny gives him +15 carries Sunday – but I hope not.

Especially with the defense we have, they gotta play keep away and control the ball to have a chance. I know everyone wants to see RG3 throw, but they aren’t going to win unless they play ball control, unless & until that defensive backfield improves…Forget trying to score 38 points, try controlling the ball for 42 minutes-THAT’S what will get you the win

Grant is schooled in the zone-blocking scheme. He won’t be a blockbuster signing, but he’s a good man, and I’m glad he latched on somewhere.

This is actually a great signing and here’s why: the coaching staff won’t feel comfortable calling option plays with Grant on the field, so every time he’s out there, we can count in seeing a NORMAL play that may actually advance the ball/not get our QB hit unnecessarily
