NEWSFLASH--the OWNERS OWN the NFL, not the players, who are EMPLOYEES of the OWNERS; nor the media, who also derive their livlihood from the businessof the OWNERS. The fact that anyone even KNOWS who the hell John Lynch is is due to the largesse of the OWNER of the Buccaneers. They EMPLOYED him. Now you can argue that they profited from his skill on the field, and you would be correct. But they no more OWED him anything then than they do now. He was COMPENSATED for his labor. SO get off your HOLIER-THAN-THOU bleacher, Lynch, and just CALL THE GAMES. We can do without your sanctimony. Personally, I have never found the NFL so entertaining as I have this season. Its so unpredictable, you can't wait to see what happens next. And it's particularly hilarious to watch these arrogant prima dona players pitch fits like ill-bred children when calls don't break their way. It's rich . . . just like millionaires calling the billionaires who made them millionaires "greedy."

Par for the course….the NFL duped the media into thinking it had evidence re: bountygate and now has duped the media again on the replacement officials.

This article isn't about bounty gate tool. But since you mentioned it, signed affidavits from a member of the accused team won't even satisfy you? No, because nothing will. America knows what spygate/bountygate deniers like you think so now you can stop typing and be off to your birthers meetings. We get it. If Vilma confessed today you'd deny it. We get it, move on.

As a Packer fan, obviously I’m upset about the call…but I’m also upset because it never should have come down to that. If we protect Aaron in the first half or if Driver catches the ball for a td in the third quarter we’d have been in control. The game never should have come down to the last play.
---------------------------------------------
So I guess the Packers beat themselves yet again.

Although a pension for someone making 100k for a part time job seems unreasonable, what does someone making 20 mil for throwing a football seem like.

The point is very few people on this planet can do what Brady and Brees can do. They're the best of the best and get paid accordingly. The regular officials are also the best of the best and the NFL wants them to get better and younger. They also should get paid accordingly.

I'm sure the NFL accounted for this in their TV deals etc. Saying that the other side has to deal with any labor disputes, up to and including replacement players. It would be priced in as a risk in the original deal.

And you are just going to take Lynch's word on this without trying to get a second source?
I'm not saying he is lying, maybe that's what he heard, but I highly doubt the NFL contacted him directly while communicating with FOX Sports. Unless he heard or read this directly, it's just hearsay.
Wouldn't a decent journalist at least try to contact the NFL and/or the honchos at FOX Sports before running this article?

Greedy Billionaire’s trying to squeeze the little guy AGAIN! How’s that trickle down theory workin out for ya?

___________

Actually it works just fine and always has. It is far superior to trickle up poverty. Remember, welfare mothers, senior citizens on fixed incomes and Jimmy Carter's unemployed grandson aren't exactly hiring ppl and creating jobs. How's this economy working out for you? There is no turnaround. I just love this mentality that because someone has it better than you, they should ante up and give you something. Vince Young is broke because he has too many "friends" like you.

The issue here is the owners wanting a better product for their money. I think they are going about it the wrong way. There has been some terrible officiating over the years with no accountability when horrible calls are made. I think we can all agree on that.

I think they need to invest some money into training new refs. Trust me, there are better candidates out there who are could do a better job than Ed Hocule and Co. who would be willing to make NFL officiating their full time employment, train and upgrade their knowledge in the offseason and would be grateful for the amount of money the NFL is paying them.

Greedy Billionaire’s trying to squeeze the little guy AGAIN! How’s that trickle down theory workin out for ya?

___________

Actually it works just fine and always has. It is far superior to trickle up poverty. Remember, welfare mothers, senior citizens on fixed incomes and Jimmy Carter’s unemployed grandson aren’t exactly hiring ppl and creating jobs. How’s this economy working out for you? There is no turnaround. I just love this mentality that because someone has it better than you, they should ante up and give you something. Vince Young is broke because he has too many “friends” like you.

Greedy refs??? I could be wrong but I pretty sure they make less then $100,000. Which isn't a bad deal. But far lesser then ref's for other sports. If the nfl is more profitable, and continuing to grow, I don't think a 5-8% raise is THAT bad. These owners wouldn't even notice if they lost that much money gambling.

One little known fact in all this, is that many of the "real" refs also are on boards that oversee the D1 college officials. The college officials were told by the "real" refs that if they broke ranks and officiated NFL games, that they would lose their college jobs as well once the "real" refs get a deal done with the NFL. Which is why we have high school and lingerie football league refs.

So, there is plenty of blame to go around for everyone. NFL and refs both.

I found it quite obvious that the announcers were holding their tongues when the officials were making mistakes. All that they would say is, I don't see that...then move on -- as opposed to making a big deal about it like usual.

No one has been even remotely easy on the replacement refs. They’ve been beaten like a rented mule. FOX even lies about sports now.</i>

that is true NOW. week 1 they all went very easy on the replacements, now we know why

more evidence of Goodell tarnishing the shield

When is the gambling commission going to start an investigation into these games. It's obvious now that the NFL has people communicating with the scab officials during the game. I've seen more people on the sidelines at Raven's home games talking to officials than normal. Are the "guys upstairs" really part of the officiating crew or are they part of NFL admin? This to me would imply that the league NOT actually the officials are controlling the outcome of games and that's BAD news for Vegas and the NFL.

Roger Goddell should be FIRED. I've watched the game grow through rozelle to tags and this guy is is a bozo! It began with spygate now bounty gate etc..

DITKA for COMMISH!

Speaking of greed .... I still can't believe that in this day and age of multi-multi-BILLION dollar TV contracts and extorting billions of tax payer dollars to build their personal fiefdom stadiums (and inexplicably getting the naming right too) and multi-million dollar luxury suites and $75k season tickets and $75 parking fees and concessions and jersey and merchandise sales and a whole seemingly never ending GRAVY TRAIN of money .... that the Raiders still play on a DIRT baseball infield.

It boggles the mind .... at least mine.

Also, they should be ashamed after grabbing ALL that money with both hands and a hunting dog to put these refs on the field for three games with no end in sight.
