Getty ImagesCardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald earned NFC offensive player of the week for Week Three of the NFL regular season in a big play-filled and individually historic performance against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Recording nine catches for 114 yards and a touchdown, Larry Fitz helped Arizona to a comfortable 27-6 win. Against the Eagles, Fitzgerald eclipsed the 700-reception mark for his career and became the youngest player in league history to do so. Having Philadelphia’s number throughout his career, Fitzgerald is averaging 114 yards per game in five meetings with the Eagles and has an incredible nine touchdowns.
Surprisingly, this is just Fitzgerald’s second career player of the week award. He’s been in the league for nine seasons.

Larry you’re such a beast.
Apparently MD Jennings game-winning TD catch for the Seahawks is going to be overlooked.
Everyone knows the real NFC Player of the Week was Lance Easley.
Kinda kills the “why don’t they get the ball to Fitz” comments doesn’t it?
Love Fitz, but Jamaal Charles earned it for this week.
Must be a pretty weak conference if 9-114-1 gets you Offensive Player Of The Weak
Over in the AFC it takes an ouput of running for 233 yards with a score and catching 6 passes for another 55 yards.
Well deserved
What about Andre Brown though? 100+ yds 2 TD’s. Hmmmmm.
Love Fitz..but I really thought the NFC offensive player should have been Wayne Elliott. Single handedly defeated the Packers on national TV

Forgot Jamaal Charles played in the AFC or what?
And people get mad when players (McCoy, Tannehill) don’t know their divisions or conferences.
Fitz is a Beast and a stand up guy, BUT, those are pedestrian numbers when you consider some of the efforts that occurred last weekend, including Andre Brown, Megatron (in a losing effort—not his fault) and even Seahawk’s Wilson, just to name a few. Yeah, it was maybe the worst call ever, but, the kid showed up.
Congrats Fitz! Caught every pass thrown his way..!!!
I like Fitz, but giving a player of the week award because someone has eclipsed a “career” mark seems more than a bit strange..
It DOES seem like they should have given it to Golden Tate for his game winning catch…LOL.
Fitz is a great player, but how does it not go to Andre Brown or Ramses Barden coming up huge as fill-ins in the GIANTS smackdown of the Carolina Panthers?
How about Christian Ponder for taking down the almighty 9ers?

Hahah no doubt, all good man. Jamaal Charles SHOULD get the AFC award, though. Completely killed my opponent in fantasy cuz of him this week =]
Not bad for an average WR.
Wait you mean the almighty one, Aaron Rodgers didn’t get the award? Oh yeah, I forget how average he looks when he’s not going against those arena league NFC north defenses.
Fitz has won many awards.Ramses Barden had his one shot.
