Antrel Rolle not sure he’ll play this week

Giants coach Tom Coughlin was upset earlier about the proximity of photographers to the sideline after safety Antrel Rolle ran into one and bruised his knee last Thursday night against the Panthers.

His face will wind up another shade of red about it if Rolle wind up missing Sunday night’s game against the Eagles as a result of the Nikon-on-knee crime. The injury was not deemed serious in the wake of the 36-7 victory, but Rolle’s condition hasn’t progressed quite as quickly as Rolle or the team might have expected.

Rolle sat out of practice on Thursday because his knee was sore and Coughlin said that he “would hope” that the safety will be able to be on the field this week. Rolle, who was limited in practice on Wednesday, sounded a slightly more cautious note.

“Right now I can’t say it’s a for sure thing,” Rolle said, via Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.

Rolle hasn’t missed a game since joining the Giants before the 2010 season, a fairly impressive run given how banged up various members of the Giants secondary have been over that time span.

I love Trel but have no doubt that if the depth is called upon again that it will do something special.

I’m calling it now, Will Hill will get a vick-6 on Sunday night!!

I don’t think what Will Hill will be the primary back-up, i think Stevie Brown will start if Antrel Rolle is out.

@danishgmenfan – I chose Will Hill for that very reason. Wacky things happen in NYG-Phi games. It won’t be the primary backup that gets the vick-6, it will be a player further down the depth chart. you’ll see.

At the end of the day, the GMeN will be prepared to handle whatever Vick throws their way. The question is, will Vick be ready to handle the abuse he’s about to take?

this is sad, they’re completely playing this up to bolster their arguement. He’s not hurt and he will play, everyone knows that. The NYG are such a pathetic joke this year. Super Bowl Frauds!

Not quite- being an Eagle fan is the only joke every year.

Rolle pushed the WR hard out of bounds….aiming the WR for the camera guy….

sorry, but I think its funny that he tried to hurt the WR and he’s the one that didn’t get up.

Stevie Brown is first off the bench, but the Thrill will get looks also when Fewell goes to a shell.
