Antrel Rolle not sure he’ll play this week

Giants coach Tom Coughlin was upset earlier about the proximity of photographers to the sideline after safety Antrel Rolle ran into one and bruised his knee last Thursday night against the Panthers.

His face will wind up another shade of red about it if Rolle wind up missing Sunday night’s game against the Eagles as a result of the Nikon-on-knee crime. The injury was not deemed serious in the wake of the 36-7 victory, but Rolle’s condition hasn’t progressed quite as quickly as Rolle or the team might have expected.

Rolle sat out of practice on Thursday because his knee was sore and Coughlin said that he “would hope” that the safety will be able to be on the field this week. Rolle, who was limited in practice on Wednesday, sounded a slightly more cautious note.

“Right now I can’t say it’s a for sure thing,” Rolle said, via Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.

Rolle hasn’t missed a game since joining the Giants before the 2010 season, a fairly impressive run given how banged up various members of the Giants secondary have been over that time span.
