Jared Cook practices for Titans, but Kenny Britt doesn’t

When wide receiver Kenny Britt hurt his ankle late in last week’s victory over the Lions, word was that it was a slight ankle sprain that wouldn’t get in the way of him remaining in the lineup for this week’s matchup against the Texans.

It’s starting to look like those feelings were premature. Britt missed practice for the second straight day on Thursday, absences that call his ability to get on the field in Houston into question. Britt, who has dealt with a hamstring injury and his recovery from knee surgery already this year, admitted to being frustrated by the appearance of yet another injury.

“Very frustrating, very frustrating,” Britt said, via Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean. “It’s like something I can’t get right, injury after injury. The last healthy season I had was my rookie year and ever since then it was just a downfall. It is something I can’t control. The only thing I can control is my rehab and trying to get back as soon as possible.”

Britt said he remains hopeful of playing against the Texans, although coach Mike Munchak said Thursday that he’s less nervous about tight end Jared Cook getting on the field than he is about Britt. Cook hurt his shoulder against the Lions and missed practice on Wednesday, but he was able to go in a limited fashion on Thursday. Cook has 11 catches for 164 yards and a touchdown in the first three games of the season.
