Knowshon Moreno pleads guilty to “driving while ability impaired”

Before Friday, Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno was facing charges of drunk driving and careless driving arising from a February 1 incident in which he was driving 70 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone.

On Friday, Moreno pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of “driving while ability impaired,” according to the Associated Press.  He received a 30-day suspended jail sentence and a one-year term of probation.

So now the 2009 first-round pick can focus on his career.  Which is good.  Because it’s not really going well.

Moreno was a healthy scratch last Sunday against the Falcons.  For the season, he has eight carries for 15 yards, one catch for 12 yards, a touchdown, and a lost fumble.

He should plead guilty to running while ability impaired as well.

I watched this kids play amazing football for UGA.
Have no idea what happened to him, but what ever it was, it was not good.

Would a non-athlete get the same option? 20 mph over the limit is generally considered reckless/dangerous driving, sober or not.

Denver played against the Falcons 2 weeks ago…and fumbled…
He was a healthy scratch last week against the Texans.

    Just FYI…

“Ability impaired” sounds like a charge that’s only reserved for plea-bargaining….like it was created to let criminals walk.

Either you mean two weeks ago against the Falcons or you mean one week ago against the Texans.

Josh McDaniels selected five players within first 64 picks of 2009 draft – Knowshon Moreno, Robert Ayers, Alphonso Smith, Darcel McBath, Richard Quinn. Three of them(McBath, Quinn and Smith) are not with the Broncos any more & Moreno’s been considered a bust so far. 4 misses in top-64 picks & then Tebow as a first rd pick a season later – the man could have absolutely destroyed that franchise if given more time 🙂

It’s now his fault. It was just a mistake. He took cold medicine. [sarcasm]

    People never learn.

It’s like the Bronco’s don’t want to admit they drafted a bust.

Everybody does, it’s time to move away from this loser.

He was still driving drunk. There is no excuse and no legal maneuvers by his lawyer change what he did. Many people claim it is no big deal. They are wrong. Lives are lost/ruined all because some selfish moron chose to drink and drive.
