Cruz was invisible – so was your entire offense loser.

But a Falcons WR, that put up ZERO points in the biggest game of his life, is insulting a man on the other team, who dominated throughout the postseason?

There is still some serious jealousy coming from everywhere around the country towards NY.

The same can be said for most of the great WRs; except Jerry Rice because there was no one within arms reach of him.

You know, for all the smart people acting like Cruz is going to the old “I got a ring defense”. It’s a little more than that when you specifically exerted your will against the player you’re talking back to.

Last season, Cruz outpaced both Jones and White for yards and TDs. His 82 catches were 28 higher than Jones, but 18 lower than White. But his 1,536 yards eclipsed White by 240 yards on those 18 fewer catches: a difference of 5.77 yards-per-catch. He outpaced Jones by almost a full yard-per-catch. And he did all this only after breaking out in Week 3 – having done pretty much nothing the first 2 weeks of the season. AND he outscored both of them by a TD. All this while competing for touches with both Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham. Cruz was the third WR and he set franchise records last season.

2011 summary:
Cruz 82 rec, 1,536 yards, 9 TDs
White 100 rec, 1,296 yards, 8 TDs
Jones 54 rec, 959 yards, 8 TDs.

2012 is going similarly. Cruz has 23 catches to White’s 19 and Jone’s 15. He has 279 yards (White: 244, Jones: 189). Jones is winning the TD battle, I’ll give him that.

But Cruz is outperforming both Jones and White on an individual basis. He’s drawing all the coverage with Nicks sidelined by injuries, and doesn’t have Manningham on the other side to draw attention away. Sure, Barden and Bennett have stepped up, but the focus has been on Cruz, and he’s still performing.

Throw in the fact that Cruz is an undrafted guy that worked his way up from the bottom, and I’ll pick him and his work ethic over Jones and White ANY day. White took 4 years to become relevant, and Jones has no excuse to not look great with White and Gonzalez commanding so much attention.

Cruz takes the contest easily.

Hmmmm … Giant fans always counter what with how many rings the franchise has? Could it be Eagle fans that try to flap about regular season win streaks & their record against division foes? Then they miss the playoffs.

Only teams without Super Bowl titles have a problem understanding Championships are all that matter. Don’t be mad that after 6 NFC championship games & 2 Super Bowl appearances you guys still don’t have any.

It’s all good though, Philly fans can keep talking about their regular season win streaks & Giant fans will keep counting Lombardi’s.

The city of Atlanta, it’s people as well as its teams have the worse case of inferiority complex I have EVER witnessed. They spend all their time trying to be a NY or LA when in truth they are a poor man’s Minneapolis. No other major metro around for 500 miles. Get over yourselves and get ready for your 1st round MLB exit in October and in January in the playoffs.

Actually, the reason why you feel this way isn’t because Atlanta is trying to be anything like an LA or NY. It’s just that there’s so many people from LA and NY trying to move down here that it’s getting pretty tiring. Believe me: Anyone wants to be LA or NY should move there for a little while. It’s no question as to why people are leaving those places and moving to places like Atlanta.

But I will say that all that a ring tells you is that you are a former champion. Congratulations on that former season. Oh, and while we’re talking about more recent former things- congratulations on your loss against Dallas in your stadium. And, whew! You’re happy to escape from Tampa Bay, too- right?

I’m a Giants fan and I have thought about Cruz and Nicks and their ranking. I think that they arguable are the best, espcially considering last year there was no running game and teams knew that the Giants had to pass. Not discrediting other teams, but it’s tougher when a team knows you are weaker doing one thing. We’ll see how each pair does this year.

But, Jones and White are the best tandem in the league, and if Matt Ryan can keep this pace up, the Superbowl will have to go through Atlanta. The Falcons are that good.

That’s right, let’s put outside forces in control of a physical game. Tyree didn’t catch the ball, it magically stuck to the top of his helmet. The Niners didn’t out play them, they lost. No such thing as outplaying a team, when the game is decided on the scoreboard. Fate, miracles, etc, are just poor excuses. By your logic, the only reason why the Niners beat GB this year, is because of the miracle that Rodgers didn’t throw for 500 yards and 6 tds.

The Cowboys are consistently the biggest underachievers, year after year.

5 sbs, but nowhere close to one, and the Giants (I’m not a fan of either team), have won twice since the ‘girls’ won one.

Who cares what you did over 16 years ago. They haven’t done squat since.

And as far as Roddy White. I’d rather have SB rings, than be seen as one of the top receivers in the league, whose team has done nothing to date. All the stats during the regular season don’t mean a damn thing, as the playoffs are a different beasts, which the Falcons have yet to conquer.
