Lions special teams definitely aren’t

Another game, another complete failure by the Lions special teams.

Detroit trails at home by 14, and they’ve surrendered a kickoff return and a punt return for a touchdown to the Vikings.

Marcus Sherels, a Rochester native who played college football at Minnesota, shimmied through coverage before busting open a 77-yard punt return for a score early in the third quarter.

Prior to the season, coach Jim Schwartz said that the players on specials teams aren’t good enough. The last eight days have proven him to be dead-on balls accurate.
