The Rams went down to the wire with their decision about running back Steven Jackson’s availability for the second straight week and they appear to have reached the same conclusion.

Jason LaCanfora of CBSSports.com was the first of several to report that Jackson will be active for the Rams against the Seahawks on Sunday. Jackson did not practice on Tuesday or Wednesday and was limited on Friday because of a groin injury suffered in the Week Two win over the Redskins, but coach Jeff Fisher has made it clear that Jackson doesn’t need to practice in order to play in games.

The question now is how much he’s going to play and how effective he will be. Jackson ran for just 29 yards on 11 carries last weekend and figures to play a limited role again this week. Daryl Richardson will pick up whatever slack remains and it would help the Rams a lot if they are able to be effective against Seattle.

That’s easier said than done against a good Seahawks defense, but necessary unless the Rams want the Seahawks pass rushers pinning their ears back against an injury-ravaged offensive line. The Seahawks sacked Aaron Rodgers eight times in the first half of Monday night’s game and the Rams won’t have a great chance to win if Sam Bradford takes a similar beating.
