Vick tweaks knee late, “hopefully” will be ready for Sunday

Philadelphia Eagles Vick is helped to his feet after a hit by the New York Giants by Referee Ron Winter during the first quarter of their NFL football game in Philadelphia Pennsylvania Reuters

On the Eagles’ final play from scrimmage on Sunday night, quarterback Mike Vick rolled left and appeared to pull up a bit before hitting the deck.

After the game, Vick addressed whether he suffered an injury.

“Something happened with my knee on the last drive,” Vick told reporters after the game.  “I’m all right though.  I’ll be ready for next week.  Hopefully.”

For a guy who has been hit more times this year than a Whack-A-Mole game at an anger management clinic, it would be ironic to say the least if Vick ultimately suffered an injury without being touched.

As the Eagles prepare to face the Steelers in Pittsburgh, it makes plenty of sense to pay attention to this one.

Vitoria Cruz can’t touch roddy white. That was proven on Sunday!

Vick needs to heal for the Steelers. That will be a very hard hitting game. I hope Harrison will not be playing. If so lites out. That OL needs to really protect Vick throughout the whole game. He also needs to protect the ball like he did against the Giants. This will be an exciting game.

It pains me to say this, but Vick played well against my Giants last night. He learned from his mistakes in the first couple weeks, and he adjusted.

Needless to say, the NFC East race is going to give all of us a heart attack, one way or the other – and will come down to the final weeks of the season.

Vick’s gonna play Sunday. Non story. Eagles are 3-1 and the city wants Reid fired. THAT’S a story.

I hope he’s ready for Sunday. The Eagles need him in order to beat the Stillers!!!

Mike will be ready, cause Brady, er Foles is ready to step in.

  8. bigjdve says: Oct 1, 2012 10:37 AM

This is the season that everyone should hope Vick doesn’t get hurt. Just imagine if Nick Foles, a QB that knows how to do reasonably well with no talent around him is going to do with the RB and receiving corps the Eagles have?

I don’t like that idea at all.

Good thing he wont even be hit on sunday then. Steelers havent applied much pressure at all this year

Don’t be delirious. Where was Roddy White in that 24 to 2 smack down in the playoffs last year.

For an undrafted rookie Victor Cruz has held his own.

    This season so far:
    White 27 catches, 413 yards, 3 tds.
    Cruz 32 catches, 388 yards, 2 tds.

Please stop hating. BTW, this was without Hakeem Nicks for 2 games so the defense would key on Cruz.

Did I mention Cruz is 5 years younger than White?

Nicks and Cruz all day. Oh! And a Superbowl Championship.

Falcons lost 24-2 in the biggest game of his life last year in the playoffs? Did Roddy White even play in that game?

GET REAL. Win in January 2013, or we will be saying the same things again about your underachieving Falcons, AGAIN.

I’m sorry eagles fans this statement is just coming from a football fan. But I think its time to move on from Vick. I mean honestly, yes their 3-1 but all three wins are by 4 combined points over the browns, the ravens and the giants. The only impressive win out of those is the ravens win, because the giants should have won that game, but a horrible pass interference call moved them back for a long field goal. Vick has only played 1 complete season in his career, he’s just getting older so its just going to keep happening. He can’t run like he used to, his pocket presence is pretty much non existant now. With the weapons he has, that offense should be putting up 30 or 40 points a game not winning by 1point. just my opinion from watching the games. I honestly believe you guys would have been better off keeping Kolb and trading Vick, and that’s not saying much

    Very funny, and very true.

Can we call him injury prone now?? I hate Vick, but he played well last night. If he starts taking care of the ball, the Eagles will win a bunch more games. Of course, Reid will probably f#$% things up by forgetting he has one of the best runningbacks in the league and throw the ball 50 times a game.

  17. bleedgreen33 says: Oct 1, 2012 12:17 PM

Bottom line. The eagles are 3-0. If we’re playing this poorly and winning games, just wait until we get it all figured out.

  18. pksoze says: Oct 1, 2012 12:35 PM

The Eagles will lose Vick for some amount of time this season its inevitable. But they won their “Super Bowl” by beating the Giants so that doesn’t matter. And I don’t care how many thumbs downs that gets.

Once again for the retards. The argument was who was the better wr not what “team” has a ring. Dude is slot man Wes Welker 2.0. Did u not watch the game lastnight? Idk maybe u think going up against number 3 corners & line backers is impressive. When dude gets 5 str8 1,000 yrd seasons as a #1 reciever then he can talk 2 roddy. We know u have the ring not taking that from you, congrats. The argument still remains as who us the better reciever. Rethink your response and come again.

Could have sworn they are 3-1. Did Reid throw a red flag to challenge the final score of the Arizona game or something?

totally true. After all, Cruz had 100+ yds and a TD playing opposite our back up kick returner vs. a pretty good Philly defense on the road. Roddy had one more TD at home vs. the world beating Panthers secondary and had Jones opposite him to boot. Smarten up.

  22. justintuckrule says: Oct 1, 2012 12:58 PM

@hardhead – If you think Cruz is covered by #3 CBs and LBs, you’re not staying up late enough to watch the prime time Giants. Roddy gets fat on those atrocious NFC South defenses. It’s why when he plays vs. any other team, he disappears. Plus, you’re 5 straight 1,000 yd argument is pretty lame since this is Cruz’ 1st full year as starter.

  23. hardh3ad says: Oct 1, 2012 1:09 PM

Smarten up? Lol! He plays in the slot nobody was opposite him. You saw what happened when he played on the outside the first game of the season. That’s all I have to say. Then the next week he goes off on Eric wright who’s was ranked in the bottom ten out of EVERY single corner in the league on pro football focus. Get real.

  24. skins1982 says: Oct 1, 2012 2:33 PM

Dont worry Eagles fans. Rg3 and the crew will be there shortly to put you out of your misery. Your trophy case stays bare for a while longer, but your used to not winning. Kerrigan will eat Vick’s heart soon. The east has flipped!!! You’ve been warned!!!!!!!

Yeah, yeah, yeah…should have proofread. Apparently when I hit the the number one on my piece of junk phone it is a 0. But at the end of the day we are three and one (thank you for your correction), and we will only get better.

LOL…says the Redskins fan? After what happened to you in your own stadium two years ago, no skins fan ever gets to criticize Vick again.
